What if you could go back in time and rewrite your entire life? For Botkawi, a hopeless romantic nursing a decade-long unrequited crush on his university crush, Praemai, that dream becomes a dizzying reality. When a mysterious crystal ball (meant to be a gift for Praemai) magically transports the 30-year-old back to his 18-year-old self, Kawi sees a golden opportunity to finally win the girl of his dreams. But time travel isn't just about fixing past regrets—it’s about discovering futures you never imagined. Each twist of the crystal ball sends Kawi down a new timeline, where his scheming to land Praemai keeps backfiring in delightfully unexpected ways. Instead of winning the girl, he keeps crashing into Pisaeng, the quiet, sharp-eyed architecture student who was always just a background character in Kawi’s memories. As Kawi bumbles through repeated do-overs—trying to save his father, fix broken friendships, and erase his own insecurities—he slowly realizes that the past is not a checklist to be corrected but a series of moments that shape who we become.

With a winsome mix of comedy, heartache, and genuine warmth, *Be My Favorite* weaves a poignant story about second chances not just in love, but in life. Kawi’s journey from a bitter, self-defeating adult to a courageous young man who learns to live in the present is beautifully mirrored by Pisaeng’s patient, unwavering devotion. The series masterfully balances its supernatural hook with down-to-earth themes: grieving a parent, confronting your own mediocrity, and the terrifying, exhilarating leap of faith it takes to let yourself be loved. It’s a love story that also asks: can you ever truly change another person’s fate, or is the greatest change the one you make within yourself?

Finally, a BL where the leads actually TALK to each other! I'm so tired of misunderstandings that last 10 episodes. Kawi and Pisaeng's communication game is *chef's kiss*. And Pisaeng? Total green flag—he gives Kawi space, doesn't push, and is just sooo patient. The time travel twist was surprisingly well done too, not just a gimmick. The episode where Kawi realizes he can't save his dad broke me. Highly recommend if you want feels without the usual cliché drama.

Visually, this is one of GMMTV's most beautiful shows. The color grading shifts subtly between timelines—warmer tones for the 'corrected' past, cooler for the bleak future. The transition scenes when Kawi travels are dreamlike and inventive. That sunset beach scene in episode 10? Stunningly lit. The OST by Krist and Gawin is gorgeous too, blending perfectly with the mood. It's rare to see a Thai BL put this much care into its visual storytelling.

I wanted to love this more than I did. The premise is solid—time travel with actual consequences—and Gawin as Pisaeng is perfect. But Kawi? He's exhausting. I get that he's supposed to grow, but for the first half he's just whiny and self-defeating. I kept wondering why Pisaeng even liked him (the answer 'you're cute' is weak). The pacing drags in the middle, and a few kisses are frustratingly camera-blocked. However, the dad storyline and the final message about living in the present are genuinely touching. It's good, just not the masterpiece others claim.

The OST is phenomenal. 'Be My Favorite' by Krist and 'You Are My Favorite' by Gawin are on repeat in my playlist. The background score is subtle but effective—those soft piano notes during Kawi's moments of realization hit hard. The diegetic music (the street performers, the dance scene) adds so much texture. I'm a sucker for a well-curated soundtrack, and this show delivers. It elevated every emotional beat. Whoever composed this deserves an award.

I appreciate that this show tackles real issues: the lack of same-sex partner medical rights, coming out to parents, and the pressure society puts on women. But I have to call out the near-unconscious kissing scene in episode 10 — that was unsettling and felt out of character for Pisaeng. On the positive side, Kawi's consent journey with intimacy is handled well; he's allowed to say 'I'm not ready' and that's respected. Pear is a surprisingly well-written female character with her own arc. Max is the friend everyone needs. It's not perfect, but it's a thoughtful step forward for BL.

Binged this in two days and I don't regret a minute. Krist and Gawin have this awkward, endearing chemistry that grows on you. Kawi is annoying at first but his character development is so real—I cried when he finally let go of his obsession with Pear. Pisaeng is boyfriend material, no question. The kisses could have been better (some are weirdly blocked), but the emotional intimacy is top-tier. Definitely an underrated gem from GMMTV.

I read the novel before watching, and while the essence is there, the drama changed significant details. The crystal ball's rules are clearer in the book. Kawi's character is less annoying in the novel—here they amplified his whiny side for comedy. Pisaeng is actually better in the drama though, more fleshed out. They cut a lot of side character development (Max gets reduced to a cheerleader). It's a solid adaptation, but the book has more depth. Still, the ending is satisfying and true to spirit.

This show ruined me. I went in expecting a fun time travel romp and got hit by a truck of emotions. Kawi's journey from 'I need to fix everything' to 'maybe I'm okay as I am' is gorgeous. And Pisaeng loving him through every iteration? My heart. The rooftop confession scene is one of the best I've seen. The flying kiss in the final episode? ICONIC. Ignore the haters—this is a beautiful love story about choosing the life you want instead of the one you regret. I'm still not over it.
