If you could speak to the dead, would you dare to love the living? Daotok, a quiet and artistic young man, has lived his whole life carrying a secret: he can see and communicate with spirits. When he moves into a suspiciously cheap, haunted condo, he expects only to be left alone with his ghostly neighbors and his cat. What he doesn't expect is Arthit—his loud, impulsive, and relentlessly persistent neighbor. Arthit is a medical student drowning in grief over his mother's death, and when he learns of Daotok's ability, he begs for help finding her lost soul. Reluctantly pulled into a supernatural search, Daotok and Arthit must navigate haunted mysteries, unresolved grudges, and the ghosts that cling to the living. But as they chase echoes of the past, something unexpected blooms between them: a slow, tender connection that neither saw coming. Part mystery, part slow-burn romance, and wholly heartfelt, *The Sun from Another Star* shines brightest when it shows that even souls lost in darkness can find light in each other.

I am absolutely GONE for Arthit and Daotok. From the first cheek pinch to that car kiss, my heart was racing the entire time. Ngern and Oat have this incredible push-pull energy that makes you crave every little glance. The way Arthit goes from 'annoying neighbor' to 'obsessed lover boy' is everything I need in a BL. Yes, the pacing stumbles a bit, but I didn't care—I just wanted more of them being soft with each other. A solid 9/10 for pure feels.

As someone who adored the novel, I was both excited and nervous. Ngern and Oat are perfectly cast—they *look* like Arthit and Daotok stepped off the page. But the drama cut so many of the quiet, intimate moments that made the book special—Arthit's vulnerable inner thoughts, the bullying backstory, the way he whispers 'wife' to Daotok's dad. It's still a lovely series, but it lost some of the novel's soul. I give it a solid 7/10 with a tinge of bittersweetness.

I wanted to love this so much because the supernatural premise is fresh and the leads have undeniable chemistry. But I cannot ignore the multiple scenes where Arthit crosses Daotok's boundaries—particularly that living room kiss in episode 6. It's framed as romantic, but it's coercive and uncomfortable. In 2026, we need to hold BLs accountable for normalizing this behavior. The emotional journey is beautiful otherwise, but these moments taint it. 6/10—watch with caution.

The middle episodes (4-6) are genuinely excellent—great pacing, real emotional stakes. But the first three episodes drag with a ghost murder plot that goes nowhere, and the final two episodes throw in a random shooting incident that feels like filler drama. The resolution is rushed and unsatisfying. Arthit and Dao carry the show on charisma alone. If you can forgive a messy third act, it's worth it for their chemistry. I'd give it a 7/10 overall.

Visually, this is a treat for the eyes. The color grading leans into warm, golden tones for emotional scenes and cool, desaturated blues for the ghost sequences—a brilliant choice that reinforces the 'sun and star' theme. The blocking in Arthit's apartment creates incredible intimacy, and that NC scene is lit and framed like a painting. I also loved how they played with the contrast between Ngern's deep tan and Oat's pale skin; it's a feast for cinematography lovers. 8/10, just for the visual storytelling.
