A bittersweet romance set against the chilly backdrop of Toronto, *You Are My Arm* follows a Thai expat who finds himself caught in the quiet ache of an unspoken love. He watches from a distance as the sun struggles to pierce the winter clouds—mirroring the warmth he feels for a man who seems just as unreachable. Adapted from a beloved novel, this film explores the weight of longing, the courage it takes to reach out, and the realization that love can blossom even in the coldest of cities. With tender performances and a hauntingly beautiful Canadian setting, it’s a slow-burn story about finding your anchor in someone who becomes your strength—your arm.

I'm a sucker for winter romances and this one hit me right in the heart. The chemistry between Jarin and Boyd is so understated yet powerful—every quiet moment spoke volumes. The Toronto scenery made me feel the cold and the warmth at the same time.

The cinematography is gorgeous, but the pacing dragged a bit in the middle. I wanted more dialogue and less staring out windows. The emotional payoff is nice, but the build-up could have been tighter for a film this length.

Visually stunning. The way they used Toronto's snowy streets and warm cafe lighting to reflect the distance between the characters was masterful. Every frame felt like a painting. I'd watch it again just for the aesthetic.

As a fan of the original novel, I appreciate the faithful emotional core, but some of the internal monologues were lost in translation to film. The ending felt a little rushed compared to the book. Still, a lovely adaptation overall.

I appreciated the respectful handling of the love story—no coercion, no power imbalances. It's a gentle exploration of wanting someone from afar and learning to voice that desire. Refreshingly healthy for a BL.
