Yao Shun Yu, a bright-eyed optimist, lands his dream job as a secretary at Tianxia, a top online marketing firm. His first day brings a rude awakening: his boss is the notoriously cold and demanding General Manager, Xia Shang Zhou. What begins as a workplace nightmare—complete with grueling tasks and icy glares—slowly reveals a deeper story. Shang Zhou is haunted by a traumatic past and a suffocating mother, while Shun Yu’s relentless cheerfulness starts to crack his armor. Their dynamic shifts from power-imbalanced tension to a tentative, awkward romance, but misunderstandings, past kidnappings, and non-consensual advances muddy the waters. As both men grapple with their feelings, Shun Yu must decide if Shang Zhou’s sudden warmth is genuine, and Shang Zhou must learn to express love without control. This Taiwanese BL balances crack-style comedy with surprising emotional depth, culminating in a finale that gives fans the affectionate, mature couple they’ve been waiting for. It’s a tropey yet self-aware ride that ultimately delivers on heart and chemistry.

I live for this kind of chemistry! Parker and Hsiao Hung are electric together—every look, every touch made my heart flutter. Sure, the plot is a mess, but who cares when the final episode gives us that incredible kiss and a happy couple just being in love? I've already rewatched their scenes three times.

The acting is solid and the comedy lands sometimes, but the writing is a disaster. Episode 8-9 is a slog of miscommunication that could've been solved in two minutes. I don't mind tropes, but when you have a CEO grabbing his employee repeatedly and calling it romance, it's hard to root for them. Ends well, but the journey is frustrating.

I'm all for fictional escapism, but this show glamorizes coercion and workplace harassment. The boss's 'trauma' doesn't excuse him grabbing, kissing without consent, and ignoring boundaries. The only saving grace is that the finale actually addresses some of this, but it's too little, too late. Watch with your critical goggles on.

Visually, this is a treat. The color grading leans warm and soft, making the office and apartment scenes feel intimate. I loved the use of reflections and framing during their tense moments—the camera really captures the emotional distance closing. The interview segments are a clever stylistic touch too, even if the audio mix can be a bit loud.

The opening and ending themes are catchy, but the background score is hit or miss. Some comedic scenes have over-the-top sound effects that clash with the romantic mood. That said, the piano motif that plays during their emotional moments is beautiful and really sells the longing. I'd loop the main OST on its own.
