In this charming two-episode special, the everyday life of a small antique shop on Yandai Byway takes an unexpected romantic turn. When a shy antiques restorer crosses paths with a charismatic but mysterious customer, a series of humorous mishaps and poignant encounters unfold against the backdrop of Beijing's historic hutongs. As they bond over a shared love for quirky artifacts and the stray cat that roams the alley, they discover that love often arrives when you least expect it—and from the most unlikely sources. With the help of an eccentric community of neighbors and a very talkative parrot, this lighthearted yet heartfelt story explores the sweetness of first love, the courage to be true to oneself, and the warmth of found family. A delightful micro-drama that packs emotional depth into a short runtime, perfect for a cozy evening.

I absolutely melted watching this! The chemistry between the two leads is so natural and soft—I love how their relationship builds over little moments like fixing a teacup or sharing a snack. The parrot and cat added so much charm. Perfect for a rainy day cuddle session!

It's cute but way too shallow. Two episodes isn't enough to develop any real conflict or character arcs—the entire romance feels rushed and convenient. The comedy is okay but the plot holes are glaring (how does the shop owner afford that place?). If you want substance, look elsewhere.

The cinematography is surprisingly polished for a low-budget web drama. Warm amber tones, lovely hutong alley shots, and intimate close-ups that capture every shy smile. The art direction of the antique shop is gorgeous. If only the story had more room to breathe, this would be a masterpiece.

I appreciate that this story shows a healthy, consensual budding romance without the typical power imbalances or non-consensual tropes often seen in BL. The shy respect they show each other is refreshing. However, the lack of any LGBTQ+ community or coming-out context feels a bit sanitized. Still, a decent start for representation.

The background music is lovely—soft folk guitar and gentle piano that perfectly match the cozy, nostalgic vibe. There's one recurring instrumental theme that I keep humming long after. The sound design of the shop (wood creaks, bird chirps) is also immersive. Wish there was an official OST release!
