My Broken Love Story is a hauntingly beautiful two-part Taiwanese BL short film that weaves a tale of heartbreak, memory, and healing through music. The story follows two identical twin brothers, both played by the Xia twins, whose lives become entangled with a charismatic young man (Ryan Hsu) after a devastating betrayal. Through flashbacks and poignant symbolism, the series explores the aftermath of a love that shattered a friendship and a family bond. The first part focuses on one twin’s perspective, while the second shifts to the other, revealing layers of grief, guilt, and the slow process of letting go. Despite its brief runtime, the short film packs an emotional punch with intense acting, a stunning visual aesthetic, and a soulful original soundtrack that underscores every heart-wrenching moment. Viewers are left with a lingering sense of beauty in pain, as the characters struggle to find themselves again after losing everything. This is not a typical happy-ending romance but a raw, poetic meditation on loss and the fragile threads that connect us.

The music in this short is absolutely stunning—it carries the entire emotional weight of the story. The songs feel like they were written for each character's pain. I couldn't stop humming them for days. The twin dynamic is unique and the acting makes up for the short length.

I'm obsessed with the Xia twins! Their chemistry is off the charts, and the way the story shifts perspectives between brothers was so clever. I was crying by the end. If only this were a full series—imagine the drama! 9.5 because it's too short but otherwise perfect.

Visually, this is a treat. The use of soft lighting, rain, and mirrors creates a melancholic dreamscape. Each frame could be a painting. The editing between flashbacks and present is seamless. Only wish the story had more room to breathe, but for a two-part MV it's impressive.

I appreciate the artistry, but the plot is almost nonexistent. With only 2 episodes, we barely get to know the characters beyond their grief. The timeline is confusing, and the 'twist' is predictable. It feels more like a concert reel than a drama. Good for a music video, not for storytelling.
