In the quiet, golden hour between daylight and dusk, two university students cross paths on a forgotten rooftop in Bangkok. Win, a photography major haunted by his past, is drawn to the sky's fading colors, while Nub, an architecture student with a hidden artistic soul, seeks solitude from a world that demands he conform. Their chance encounter, sparked by a shared cigarette and a conversation about constellations, unfolds into an intimate night of vulnerability and connection. As the sun dips below the horizon, they discover that the space where the sky meets the sun is also the space where two hearts can collide. This tender, visually stunning short film captures the fragile beauty of a first meeting that feels both fleeting and eternal, exploring themes of identity, loneliness, and the courage to be seen. With its poetic storytelling and raw performances, 'Where the Sky Meets the Sun' is a quiet masterpiece that lingers long after the credits roll.

I am absolutely in love with this short film. The way Win and Nub look at each other—it's like the whole world stops. That rooftop scene where they almost touch but don't? My heart was pounding. Gojin's acting is so raw, I felt every tear. This is what BL should be: tender, real, and full of hope. I've watched it three times already.

For a student film, it's surprisingly polished—the cinematography is the real star. But the story is minimal: two people talk on a rooftop, then it ends. I appreciate the emotional honesty, but I wanted a bit more conflict or development. The pacing drags in the middle. Still, a solid effort that shows promise.

This is a visual feast. Every shot is meticulously composed—the warm golden hour light, the reflections in the glass, the way the city lights come on in the background. The director understands how to use space to convey intimacy and loneliness. I could pause this film at any moment and hang the frame on my wall. A masterclass in visual storytelling.

I appreciate that this short film models healthy communication and consent from the very first interaction. Win asks Nub if he can sit down, offers the cigarette without pressure, and both characters vocalize their boundaries. The romance doesn't rely on coercion or tropes like forced proximity. It's refreshing to see LGBTQ+ youth portrayed with agency and vulnerability. More stories like this, please.

The music in this film is subtle but so effective. A single piano theme weaves through the dialogue, swelling just when the characters share a meaningful glance. The sound design—the distant traffic, the wind, the rustle of clothing—creates a rich auditory world. I wish the original score were available on streaming. It elevates an already emotional story.
