I really wanted to love this because the premise is sweet, but the acting is stiff and the camera work feels like a student project. There's a nice moment of vulnerability between the leads, but it's just too short and awkward to make me feel invested. Still, I respect that it exists for 2012 Korea.

The plot is barely there. We get a setup, a brief conflict, and then a rushed resolution that feels unearned. The mother's character is one-dimensional and the dialogue is clunky. I understand it's a short film, but you can still tell a complete story in under 30 minutes. This one doesn't succeed.

The cinematography is actually quite decent for a low-budget indie—there's some nice natural light and framing in the officetel scenes. Unfortunately, the color grading feels flat and the editing is choppy in places. It's no visual masterpiece, but I can see the effort and the director's eye for intimate spaces.

While I appreciate the attempt to depict a gay relationship under family pressure, the film doesn't explore consent or agency meaningfully. Hyeon U's fear feels realistic, but the mother's sudden acceptance at the end lacks any real conversation about homophobia. It glosses over the real pain many queer Koreans experience. A missed opportunity.

There's barely a soundtrack to speak of—just ambient sounds and a couple of awkwardly placed piano notes. For a film centered on emotional beats, the lack of music makes scenes feel emptier than they should. I'm all for minimalist scores, but this was just sparse.
