Meet Poon, a hardworking young man who dropped out of school after losing his parents to support himself and his younger brother. His life revolves around his humble somtum (papaya salad) stall, where he pours his heart into every dish. When a heated encounter with a wealthy, arrogant hotel CEO named Athip turns personal, Athip becomes obsessed with Poon's culinary talent and convinces him to work as a chef at his upscale hotel restaurant. What follows is a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance, simmering with fiery arguments, stolen glances, and mouth-watering food. As Poon navigates kitchen politics, jealous rivals, and a meddling socialite who wants Athip for herself, he must also protect his independence and the bond with his brother. More than a romance, *What Zabb Man!* is a celebration of food as a love language and the resilience of someone who refuses to let his circumstances define him.

I absolutely adored the food-centered romance! The way Athip falls for Poon through his cooking felt so unique and heartfelt. Sure, there were frustrating moments, but the cute scenes between them made me smile. Poon is my favorite kind of BL lead: stubborn yet sweet. Give me more papaya salad love stories!

I only watched for Teng and Mayom, and they stole the whole show. The way Teng finally breaks free from his toxic 5-year relationship and finds someone who actually respects him? That's the real story. Their scenes crackled with emotion and I actually felt their pain and joy. Main couple could never.

This series is a mess of clichés and bad writing. The CEO is a controlling jerk who never truly apologizes, and the main lead's constant 'I'm fine' attitude got old fast. The side couple's drama was more interesting but still dragged. Plus, that annoying female villain got way too much screen time. Hard pass.

I appreciate that Poon doesn't just roll over for the rich CEO, and the series tries to show toxic relationships as bad. However, the main couple's dynamic is still rife with control issues—Athip never really learns to respect Poon's boundaries. The non-consensual touching scene was uncomfortable. Not the worst, but definitely not a healthy blueprint.

The food shots were gorgeous—I could almost taste the somtum. But the overall cinematography suffers from a weird blur filter on faces and inconsistent lighting. The production value is decent for a low-budget series, but some scenes look like they were shot on a phone. At least the color grading on the papaya salad pops.
