In the heat of a humid Manila night, two young swimmers—quiet, brooding Kai and free-spirited, effervescent Miguel—find themselves alone at their university's abandoned pool after hours. What begins as a playful, moonlit splash-fight quickly escalates into something neither of them anticipated: a raw, unspoken attraction that can no longer be ignored. As droplets cling to skin and breath quickens, they retreat to the tiled bathroom, where the water from the pool gives way to tears, confessions, and a desperate need for connection. Wet is a breathtakingly intimate short film that captures the electric, terrifying moment of first love—where vulnerability becomes strength and desire overflows into something life-changing. Set against the backdrop of competitive swimming, this Filipino gem explores identity, secrecy, and the liberating power of giving in to what you feel.

I'm absolutely wrecked. The way Kai and Miguel look at each other—every glance, every touch—it's pure fire. That bathroom scene destroyed me in the best way. More of this, Philippines!

Visually stunning. The water reflections on their skin, the cool blue tones against warm yellow bathroom lights—it's a masterclass in visual storytelling. Every shot feels intentional. My only complaint is I wanted more minutes to soak in the atmosphere.

Beautiful to look at, and the leads have undeniable chemistry, but the pacing feels a bit rushed. The transition from playful splashing to intense confession happens a little too fast even for a short. Still, the emotional payoff is strong enough to forgive the narrative shortcuts.

I appreciate how the film handles consent—every touch is preceded by hesitation, eye contact, silent permission. It's a realistic portrayal of two boys navigating fear and desire. The power dynamics are beautifully balanced. A small gem with a big heart.

The ambient sound design is incredible—the dripping water, the echoes in the tiled room, the soft ambient music swelling just as they kiss. It's half the reason the emotion hits so hard. I need a soundtrack release immediately.
