In this quirky Korean short film, Bok Hui is a ghost with a serious crush on his living housemate, Mal Ro. The only problem? Mal Ro can see ghosts, but he's definitely not feeling the romantic vibes. Desperate to win his heart—or at least get his attention—Bok Hui tries everything from clumsy hauntings to heartfelt confessions, all while navigating the comedic chaos of supernatural cohabitation. But when a new, living rival enters the picture, the stakes rise, forcing both ghost and human to confront their own fears about love, identity, and moving on. Part comedy, part drama, and deeply human, *Weird Housemates* blends supernatural hijinks with a tender exploration of unrequited feelings and the courage it takes to truly connect.

I really wanted to love this because the concept of a ghost crushing on a living guy is so unique! But the execution fell flat for me. The comedy felt forced, and I didn't buy the emotional connection between the leads. Still, I admire the indie spirit and the attempt to tackle homophobia in a short runtime. Not a total waste, but not a rewatch either.

I'm all for experimental queer cinema, but this was a mess. The plot makes zero sense—ghost rules change scene to scene, and the character motivations are baffling. The acting is wooden, and the shaky cam gave me a headache. I can see what the team was trying to do, but it feels like a first draft that needed serious reworking. Hard pass.

I focus on visual storytelling, and this short film is a stark reminder of how bad technical execution can ruin a good idea. The lighting is inconsistent, the audio is tinny (where's the boom op?), and the shaky handheld footage serves no purpose. There are a few shots that show potential, but overall it's an eyesore. Disappointing from a team I normally respect.

This short made me think about how queer narratives often rely on tragic tropes, and *Weird Housemates* tries to subvert that with comedy—though it doesn't fully succeed. The off-screen suicide and homophobia are handled clumsily, but I appreciate the attempt to show solidarity between marginalized identities. It's flawed but earnest. For a 2015 indie, it's worth a watch for the conversation it sparks.

I'm a soundtrack lover, so I was hoping for some mood-setting music, but the audio mix is so chaotic that most of the background score is either drowned out or poorly synced. There's one piano motif that could have been lovely if the sound design didn't ruin it. The acting and direction aren't strong enough to carry the film, and the music didn't save it for me.
