Five years after the bittersweet farewell of college, *We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd Special Edition* plunges us into an adult world of corporate power struggles and unresolved heartache. Zhou Shu Yi, now a steely vice president under his domineering father, has built a wall around his wounded heart after discovering what he believed was Gao Shi De’s betrayal in America. But fate—and a corporate acquisition—forces him to confront the past when Gao Shi De re-enters his life as the CEO of a newly acquired tech company. The Special Edition of this season is a game-changer: extended scenes deepen every emotional beat, from the explosive office confrontations to the raw, vulnerable reconciliations. We witness Shu Yi’s tightly wound anger crack open as Shi De’s unwavering devotion breaks through years of silence. Meanwhile, a secondary romance blooms between the emotionally detached school doctor Pei Shou Yi and the brilliant but paranoid CTO Yu Zhen Xuan, exploring love through the lens of neurodivergence. With stunning cinematography, a haunting OST, and career-best performances from Ray Jiang and Joe Tsai, this special cut elevates an already powerful story into an essential, heart-wrenching experience for BL fans.

I'm still trembling after Episode 2. That drunk kiss is the most beautifully shot, emotionally devastating scene I've ever seen in BL. Ray Jiang and Joe Tsai didn't just act—they bled for these roles. The Special Edition gives us the closure and depth the normal version lacked. Absolute must-watch for any romantic at heart.

I wanted to love this, but the central misunderstanding feels forced—why would Shu Yi assume betrayal without any proof? The timeline jump and the unresolved blonde woman issue bugged me until the very end. The main couple's chemistry is undeniable, but the plot relies too heavily on tropes. The Special Edition fixes some pacing, but not the core logic gaps.

The color grading alone is worth the watch—cool blues and grays mirror the emotional distance, then warm golds flood in during reconciliation. The camera work during the argument on the bridge is masterful; every angle tells a story. This is how you elevate a drama through visual language. The special edition's extended shots are a gift for eyes.

I appreciate the attempt to portray neurodivergent love through Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan, but the execution felt rushed and stereotypical in places. As someone with Asperger's, I wanted more authenticity. That said, the main couple's emotional journey hit me hard. The Special Edition at least gives the side couple a bit more breathing room.

I came for the main couple but stayed for Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan's quiet, painful love story. Yes, it's undercooked in 6 episodes, but their dynamic—one unable to feel, the other feeling too much—haunts me. The Special Edition's extra scenes made me cry harder. If only they'd gotten their own spin-off.
