What starts as a drunken, heartbroken mistake turns into the most unexpected love story of the year. Dr. Wandee, a talented but perpetually overlooked orthopedic surgeon, finally gathers the courage to confess his feelings to his long-time crush, Dr. Ter—only to be dismissed as 'too vanilla.' Reeling from rejection and drowning his sorrows, Wandee stumbles into the path of Yoryak, a cocky, charming Muay Thai fighter who's used to winning inside the ring but has no idea what's about to hit him. One impulsive night together leads to a second, then a third, and soon the two strike a deal: no-strings-attached fun, no feelings allowed. But when Wandee lies to his hospital colleagues about having a boyfriend to save face, Yoryak steps into the role of fake boyfriend—and the lines between performance and reality blur fast.

What makes *Wandee Goodday* special is how it balances laugh-out-loud comedy with surprising emotional depth. Wandee and Yoryak’s chemistry is electric from their very first meeting—playful banter, lingering looks, and a tenderness that sneaks up on them both. The series doesn't just deliver swoon-worthy romance; it also carves out meaningful space for side characters, including Yoryak’s supportive brother Oye and his long-term boyfriend Cher (a bickering, loving established couple), and Wandee’s best friend Plakao, an asexual character whose gentle romance offers rare and valuable representation. As Yoryak fights for a championship belt and Wandee competes for a prestigious medical scholarship, they must navigate family trauma, jealous exes, and their own fears of vulnerability. The show’s visual flair—neon-lit apartments, intimate training montages, and a constant warmth—makes every episode feel like a comforting hug that occasionally turns into a playful punch. It’s a friends-with-benefits-to-true-love journey that celebrates consent, communication, and the idea that the best days are the ones where you take a chance on someone unexpected.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with this show! Great and Inn have the kind of chemistry that makes you believe in soulmates. Every time they looked at each other I screamed into my pillow. The fake relationship trope is executed perfectly—the tension, the jealous moments, the way they slowly realize they're in love. And that wedding at the end? I cried like a baby. Yes, the last few episodes dragged a bit, but I didn't care because every second of Yoryak and Wandee being cute melted my heart. A must-watch for anyone who loves true romance!

I came for the Muay Thai and stayed for... well, I'm not sure. The boxing scenes are disappointing—Yoryak supposedly a world champion but he never has a single bruise or swollen eye after fights. The choreography is okay but you've seen better in any real sports drama. That grim reaper figure in his nightmares was so cheesy. However, I will say the chemistry between the leads is undeniable, and the training montages at least look like the actors put in effort. If you're here for the romance you'll be happy, but if you want gritty fight realism, look elsewhere.

Can we talk about Oye and Cher?! Thor and Fluke completely stole every scene they were in. Their established relationship, the bickering, the obvious devotion—I wanted an entire series just about them. The way Cher takes care of Oye, the way Oye gets jealous, their wedding at the end had me sobbing. Meanwhile, the main couple's will-they-won't-they got tiresome after episode 7. I still really liked the show overall because of the side couple and the ace representation, but man, GMMTV needs to give ThorFluke their own drama ASAP!

The first seven episodes are genuinely good—fun, sexy, well-paced. Then the writers decided to throw in every cliché in the book: a pointless love triangle, a boring family feud resolved in one conversation, and a final speech at a championship fight that defies all logic. Wandee's inability to commit after acting like a boyfriend for eight episodes made me want to throw my remote. And don't get me started on Ter getting a happy ending for no reason. The chemistry between the leads is the only thing holding this together. It's an okay watch, but it could have been great if the second half had any discipline.

Visually, this series is a mixed bag. Wandee's apartment with all those cutesy neon signs and Instagram-ready decor felt more like a set than a home, and the constant spray-painting of 'FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS' on a window was way too on the nose. That said, the intimate scenes are shot with a warm, soft filter that makes every moment feel dreamy. I loved the color grading in the boxing gym—sweat and grit contrasted with soft pinks. The director clearly has an eye for romantic framing, but sometimes the cinematography overpowers the story. Still, it's a pretty show to look at, even when the plot lags.

Okay, can we all agree that Great's OST is an absolute banger? I've had it on repeat since the first episode. The way the song kicks in during their tender moments gives me chills every time. The background music throughout the series is also really well done—upbeat and playful for comedic scenes, soft and acoustic for the romantic ones. My only complaint is they used the same track way too often in the second half, but honestly, it's so good I didn't mind. The show's sound design made the emotional beats hit harder. Definitely one of the best BL soundtracks of the year!

I appreciate what this series tries to do with representation—especially Plakao's asexual storyline, even though it needed more screen time. The show also handles boundaries well: Yoryak and Wandee constantly check in with each other about their arrangement, and the communication around consent in their physical relationship is refreshing. However, there's a scene in episode 2 where a character says 'stop' and the other doesn't immediately stop, which bothered me. Also, the way Ter's creepy behavior is essentially forgiven at the end sends a mixed message. Overall, it's a step in the right direction for BL, but not perfect.

Having read the original novel, I was excited to see how GMMTV adapted it. The drama actually improves on some aspects—the chemistry between Great and Inn is far better than I imagined from the text. But the adaptation also removes some of the darker, more nuanced moments from the book, especially around Yoryak's trauma and the family drama. The pacing in the second half deviates significantly from the novel, which felt tighter. I wish they had kept the original ending instead of the overly saccharine finale. Still, as a standalone show, it's cute. Just don't expect a faithful adaptation.
