In the midst of the Philippines' brutal war on drugs, a young filmmaker's world collapses as his family life disintegrates around him. Seeking purpose and belonging, he is drawn into the underground revolutionary movement, where his camera becomes a weapon for truth and his heart opens to an unexpected, forbidden love. Set against a backdrop of state violence and political awakening, this bold Filipino BL film intertwines a deeply personal coming-out story with a gripping call to social justice. It's a raw, unflinching look at how conviction can transform an ordinary artist into an activist—and how love can bloom even in the darkest of times. Prepare for a heavy yet emotionally resonant journey that refuses to look away from the fight for a better world.

I went in expecting a typical BL fluff piece and instead got a gut punch about state violence and resistance. The romance is subdued but the chemistry between the leads feels earned against such grim reality. It's not an easy watch, but for those who care about social justice in storytelling, this is a vital film.

The cinematography does a lot of heavy lifting here—handheld shots during protests, desaturated colors that mirror emotional decay. Some compositions are genuinely striking. The narrative flow suffers from abrupt tonal shifts, but as a visual document of a political struggle, it has real merit.

I appreciate the ambition, but the script is a mess. Characters make baffling decisions, the romance feels tacked on just to claim the BL label, and the political message is delivered with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. I wanted to love it, but the poor pacing and wooden dialogue killed any immersion.

I came for the romance but stayed for the revolution—though honestly, there's barely any romance. The leads share maybe two intimate scenes, and the rest is just political arguing. If you're looking for a sweet love story, this isn't it. Still, the actors did their best with what they were given.

The score is one of the few highlights—haunting guitar melodies and subtle ambient drone that really sell the tension. But the sound mixing is uneven; dialogue gets buried under diegetic noise in key scenes. A stronger soundtrack integration could have elevated the emotional beats that the script fumbled.
