I said it before and I'll say it again: the specials are better than the main series! This was pure, unbridled fluff from start to finish. The camping date, the cute cameo from the You Are Mine couple, and the way Gu Jing and Liu Li just melt into each other—it gave me everything I needed. More BL series need these joyful, no-drama epilogues.

It's a decent special, but the excessive piggyback rides and the 'husband vs wife' conversation felt a bit juvenile for an established couple. I did appreciate that they addressed the beard disappearance realistically. The sweet moments are there, but I wish the characters had more mature interactions. Still, a nice way to wrap up the story.

I literally screamed when Yao Shun Yu and Xia Shang Zhou showed up! Getting extra time with the You Are Mine couple while also watching Gu Jing and Liu Li solidify their love was a dream come true. The camping setting was gorgeous, and the crossover felt like a warm hug. More VBL universe crossovers, please!

Visually, this special is a treat. The natural lighting during the camping scenes, the soft color grading, and the intimate framing made every kiss feel cinematic. Stan Huang's fiery look against lush greenery was a photographer's dream. The only thing that could have elevated it more was a stronger background score during emotional beats.

I enjoyed the special's focus on healthy communication—Gu Jing reassuring Liu Li about the trip, Liu Li voicing his worries without tantrums. That said, I cringed at the 'who’s the wife' joke. In 2024, we can retire that trope. Overall, it’s a step forward for positive representation of emotional maturity in BL, even if it stumbles on old stereotypes.
