What would you do if you woke up one day in someone else’s body—in an entirely different universe? That’s the dizzying reality facing Talay, a young colorist who finds himself suddenly inhabiting the life of Tess, the handsome heir to a massive entertainment corporation. The twist? He’s not alone. Puen, a famous actor, has also been swapped into the body of Tun, a struggling scriptwriter. Stranded in a parallel world with no clear way home, the two strangers must rely on each other to navigate their new identities, uncover the rules of this bizarre universe, and find the mysterious 'portkey' that could send them back. But as they grow closer, the lines between borrowed lives and real feelings begin to blur.

Vice Versa is a whimsical, visually stunning fantasy romance that balances lighthearted comedy with genuine emotional stakes. The series leans into its colorful palette—literally, as each character is tied to a signature hue—and uses the parallel-world premise to explore themes of identity, belonging, and the courage to chase your own story. While the plot sometimes meanders through college filmmaking shenanigans and product placements, the core relationship between Talay and Puen is tender and refreshingly mature. They communicate, support each other, and gradually fall in love without the usual toxic misunderstandings.

A standout feature is the incredible roster of GMMTV cameos (Ohm, Nanon, Tay, Mix, and more), making each episode feel like a mini-reunion for BL fans. The series also tackles subtle social commentary, from marriage equality to the high cost of public transportation, all wrapped in a dreamy, almost fairy-tale aesthetic. Whether you’re here for the body-swap mystery, the sweet slow-burn romance, or simply to see Jimmy and Sea’s undeniable chemistry blossom, Vice Versa offers a comforting escape into a world where love—and a little bit of luck—can bridge any universe.

I absolutely adored Vice Versa! Yes, it's fluffy and maybe a bit slow, but the chemistry between Jimmy and Sea is electric. I loved how they didn't play games – they actually talked about their feelings like adults. The scene where they finally confess under the stars had me in tears. And the post-credit scene? Perfect closure. If you want a feel-good romance that doesn't make you angry, this is it.

I really wanted to like this more, but the plot just falls apart after episode 2. The whole parallel universe concept is barely explored – they could have done so much with it, but instead we get endless scenes of friends making a movie and selling instant noodles. The rules of the portkey are never properly explained, and the year-long time skip is jarring. I’m okay with fluff, but I need some logical consistency. Jimmy and Sea tried their best, but even they couldn’t save this script.

Vice Versa is one of the most visually beautiful BLs I've ever seen. The color grading – each character assigned a hue – is genius and adds so much depth to the storytelling. The locations (the glass house, the maze, the airplane restaurant) are straight out of a dream. Even the product placements are shot nicely, though they do go on too long. I forgive a lot because the aesthetic is just that cohesive. If you're a fan of cinematography, this is a treat.

I read the novel before watching, and I have mixed feelings. The first episode adapts the book beautifully – they even improved some scenes. But after that, the drama goes its own way, adding a lot of filler and changing character motivations. The novel’s emotional depth gets lost in commercial breaks. I still enjoyed seeing the characters come to life, and the ending is faithful to the book’s spirit. But if you’re a purist, prepare for some disappointment.

The OST for Vice Versa is absolutely stunning! I have ‘Living in the Same Universe’ on repeat. The background scores perfectly capture the whimsical, bittersweet tone of the show. Jimmy and Sea even sang some songs themselves – their voices blend so well. Every emotional beat is amplified by the music. Worth watching just for the soundtrack alone, especially if you're a sucker for Thai BL ballads.

I appreciate that Vice Versa touches on topics like marriage equality and the expense of public transit – that’s progressive for a fluffy BL. But the main relationship raises some consent questions: Tun (Puen) pursues Talay while hiding his true identity for way too long. Yes, they eventually talk it out, but the deceit feels glossed over. Also, the power imbalance (Tess is a CEO’s son, Talay is a lowly colorist) could have been explored more critically. It’s a sweet show, but it missed a chance to dig deeper into the ethics of identity-swapping.

I only kept watching for Aou and Fuse! Their side story – the vet and the animal lover – was so cute and underdeveloped. They literally get a 5-second scene in the final episode? Criminal! The main couple is fine, a bit bland for my taste. But the chemistry between the second leads was electric. I really wish GMMTV would give them their own series. As it stands, Vice Versa is a decent watch if you're a completionist, but the side couple deserved so much more screen time.
