Yosef (Opi Eusebio) is a vibrant, openly gay makeup vlogger navigating the hallways of an all-boys high school in the Philippines. While he owns his sass and fabulousness online, his heart aches for romance — something he feels is missing in his life. One desperate cry for love to his followers sets off a chain of events that brings unexpected connections, self-discovery, and a tender first relationship. Told in five short episodes, *Ur_Tadhana* captures the excitement and awkwardness of young love, the power of being your true self, and the messy beauty of finding someone who sees you for who you are. With its grounded performances and charmingly low-budget production, this miniseries stands as an early gem in Filipino BL web dramas, offering a sweet, relatable, and proudly queer coming-of-age story that still resonates with viewers today.

I absolutely fell in love with Yosef! He's so real and unapologetically himself — watching him find his first romance made my heart melt. The chemistry between the leads is awkward in the best way, just like real high school love. This is the kind of positive, light BL I wish I had growing up.

I appreciate what this show tried to do for representation in 2017, but the acting is stiff, the pacing is rushed, and the audio quality distracts from the emotional beats. It's more of a historical curiosity than a genuinely good drama. Still, cute concept — I just wish the execution matched the heart.

For its time and budget, this is a sweet little story. The social context of being the only out gay kid in an all-boys school is handled with a light touch — no trauma porn, just everyday microaggressions and support from friends. The vlogging framing is a fun gimmick. A solid early entry in Filipino BL that deserves a respectful nod.

The cinematography is very basic — mostly static shots and handheld with lots of natural light — but it actually gives the show a homemade charm that fits the vlogger theme. The color grading is warm, almost like a slice-of-life indie film. Not a visual masterpiece, but the DIY aesthetic grows on you.

The background music is simple keyboard melodies and a cute original song that plays during the climax. It's not award-winning, but it perfectly matches the soft vibe of the show. I actually added the theme to my comfort playlist. If you're an OST lover who appreciates lo-fi sweetness, you'll dig it.
