A year after his boyfriend vanished without a word, a young man is still nursing a broken heart when a late-night swipe on a dating app brings him face-to-face with a ghost from his past – or someone who looks exactly like him. What begins as a tentative reunion quickly unravels into a tangled web of mistaken identity and unresolved longing, as he discovers the stranger is not his ex-boyfriend, but his identical twin. Set over the course of a single, tense evening, this South Korean short film dives headfirst into a messy love triangle where desire, grief, and the eerie familiarity of a stranger collide. With only eleven minutes to tell its story, 'Twins' packs a punch of steamy tension and emotional whiplash, leaving viewers to question whether the heart can truly tell two faces apart. A bold, minimalist drama that banks on its high-concept premise and a dual-role performance, it's a quick, provocative watch for those who love short-form BL with a twist.

I went in hoping for a clever psychological short, but all I got was 11 minutes of confusion. The twin twist is interesting in theory, but with zero backstory and weak acting, it felt more like a rough draft than a finished film. I literally had to rewatch to even understand what was happening. Not worth the time, even for a short.

As a romance junkie, I'm a sucker for any twin-swap drama, and that one kiss scene? Wow, it was hot. But honestly, the story made zero sense and I didn't feel connected to anyone. I wish they'd stretched this into a proper series so the emotional beats could land. Still, for a quick guilty pleasure, it's okay.

The music did absolutely nothing for me. It's supposed to underscore the tension, but it was so generic I forgot it was even playing. Combined with flat dialogue and a rushed plot, this short felt lifeless. The only thing that caught my ear was the ambient silence during the kiss – at least that felt intimate.

I appreciate the attempt to explore identity and grief through the twin trope, but the execution fails to address the ethical questions of sleeping with your ex's twin. The power dynamics are messy and untreated. It could have been a great conversation starter, but the short runtime doesn't allow for any real critique. Mediocre.

The cinematography is decent for an indie short – some nice close-ups and lighting during the night scenes – but overall it's too dark and murky to really appreciate. The dual-role actor does a passable job distinguishing the brothers, but the script gives him nothing to work with. A forgettable experiment.
