In the dimly lit glow of a quiet Seoul bar, two men collide with the ghosts of their past. Jae-won, now a married man with a baby on the way, thought he had buried his feelings years ago. But when Min-hyuk—his first love and the man who once shattered his heart—slides onto the stool next to him, the carefully built walls begin to crumble. As the night deepens and the candlelight flickers, confessions spill out between sips of whiskey and shared silences. They speak of the years lost, the choices made, and the desires they still harbor. Meanwhile, Min-hyuk brings his own secret: he is living openly with his male partner, a life Jae-won envies but fears to embrace. This intimate, 22-minute short film captures a single night of raw emotion, exploring what it means to love someone you can never truly have. With no easy answers and plenty of heartache, *Turquoise Sky* is a poignant meditation on regret, sacrifice, and the roads not taken.

I'm a sucker for moody lighting and this short film delivered. Every frame looks like a painting—the candlelight on their faces, the amber hues of the whiskey. It's a masterclass in using visual storytelling to convey longing. The story is simple but the direction made it feel epic in just 22 minutes.

The chemistry between the two leads is incredibly raw. You can feel the years of suppressed feelings in every stolen glance. I just wish we had more time with them—the ending left me wanting a full drama series to explore their backstory. Still, it's a bittersweet gem for fans of emotional love stories.

I appreciate what it tried to do with the bar setting and the one-night structure, but honestly, not much happens. The dialogue feels repetitive—a lot of 'I missed you' and 'Why didn't we...' without any real development. For a short film, the pacing dragged, and the married man's conflict never felt fully explored. A decent attempt but forgettable.

This is a poignant snapshot of the closet experience in 2010s Korea. The film doesn't shy away from showing how internalized homophobia and societal pressure destroy relationships. However, I was uncomfortable with how little weight was given to the wife and baby—the emotional affair is romanticized. It's a valuable watch for discussion but not a feel-good romance.

For a 2014 indie short, this hits way harder than many full-length BLs. The actors portray regret so vividly—I cried during the final scene. Yes, the story is simple, but sometimes a quiet conversation in a bar is all you need to break your heart. Highly recommended for anyone who likes angst with a touch of hope.
