For years, Chonlatee has harbored a secret crush on his childhood neighbor and best friend, Tonhon. While Tonhon has always seen Chon as family – calling him 'little brother' and looking out for him – Chon’s feelings run much deeper. When Tonhon unexpectedly becomes single after a breakup, Chon sees a glimmer of hope and decides it's finally time to reveal his true feelings. But there's a major obstacle: Tonhon is outwardly homophobic, often making crude jokes and espousing toxic masculine ideals drilled into him by his strict father. As Chon navigates his unrequited love, he must also contend with Tonhon's baffling behavior – a mix of bullying and protectiveness. The series follows their tumultuous journey as Tonhon's world is turned upside down, forcing him to confront his own prejudices and hidden desires. With a colorful support system including Tonhon's oblivious friends Ai and Ni, the blunt Miriam, and the charming Na (who openly pursues Chon), this Thai BL is a chaotic rollercoaster of comedy, drama, and questionable life choices. While the show tackles themes of coming out, family pressure, and self-acceptance, it does so with a heavy dose of slapstick humor and a very 2020-era approach to sensitive topics. What makes the series memorable is its earnest attempt to show a homophobe's redemption arc – however clumsily executed – and the sweet chemistry between the leads in their quieter moments.

I honestly don't get all the hate! Yes, Ton is a jerk in the beginning, but his journey to accepting his feelings for Chon is so satisfying. Podd and Khao have this cute awkward chemistry that makes me squeal. The scene where Ton finally realizes he's been in love with Chon all along? I rewatched it five times. Also, Chon's mom is the absolute best – she deserves her own show.

The pacing is a mess. Ton goes from 'gays are disgusting' to 'love is love' in the span of one episode with zero believable development. They set up interesting conflicts like the homophobic dad and the cheating ex, but resolve them with a quick accident and a half-hearted apology. The comedy falls flat when it's undercut by serious issues like attempted rape that get brushed aside. Not to mention the ridiculous surrogacy plot at the end – what were they thinking?

I'm genuinely disturbed by how this show handles sexual assault. A character tries to rape Chon in a bathroom while he's drunk, and it's played off as a minor inconvenience. No police, no trauma, no consequences. Meanwhile, the female characters are either baby-crazy or vengeful exes. Ton's dad treats women as wombs, and the show seems to endorse that by having Miriam become a surrogate for him. I can't recommend this to anyone who cares about ethical storytelling.

I read the original novel, and this adaptation is an insult. In the book, Ton is never homophobic – he's just a shy guy figuring out his sexuality. The drama added all these toxic masculinity scenes to create 'drama' and it ruins both characters. They also changed the ending to include that weird surrogacy thing which doesn't exist in the source material. Why do producers think they need to make everything darker? The novel was a sweet, slow-burn romance. This is a trainwreck.

I only kept watching for Ai and Ni (and Na tbh). Mike and Toptap are adorable together and deserved way more screen time. It's such a shame they censored their kisses – you can see the weird editing where they pull away. Ni's shyness and Ai's protective nature? Chef's kiss. Na is also a fantastic character – he's honest, kind, and respects Chon's choices. If the whole show had focused on these side couples instead of Ton's toxic redemption, it would have been much better.

The soundtrack is... forgettable. There's this repetitive background music that goes 'bum bum' during supposedly emotional scenes and it completely kills the mood. The opening theme is okay but nothing I'd add to my playlist. Compare this to the banger OSTs from other GMMTV shows like 2gether or Theory of Love, and it's night and day. The sound design lets down what little emotional weight the scenes have.

Visually, it's a mixed bag. The production value is decent – nice lighting in some scenes, especially the nighttime balcony moments between Ton and Chon. But the living room scenes are shot so lazily, just characters sitting on a couch with zero camera movement. The episode 1 parody of The Untamed was actually creative and well-edited, which makes the rest of the series feel like a letdown. The color grading is too warm for a story with such dark themes.
