Season 2 of *To My Star* picks up where the warm, hopeful finale of Season 1 left off—only to shatter expectations. A year after their fairy-tale romance, celebrity actor Kang Seo Joon returns home one night to find only a terse goodbye note and an uneaten birthday cake. His beloved, chef Han Ji Woo, has vanished without explanation, ghosting the man he once promised to love. Devastated and obsessive, Seo Joon spends months searching, finally tracking Ji Woo to a bleak coastal village where he runs a near-empty Italian restaurant in the dead of winter. What follows is not a sweet reconciliation but a raw, agonizing exploration of why love sometimes isn’t enough. Ji Woo, once the grumpy but endearing introvert, now meets every gesture of Seo Joon’s with cold indifference, verbal cruelty, and outright rejection. New characters—a persistent ex-girlfriend, a precocious village child who calls Ji Woo ‘Dad,’ and Seo Joon’s ever-loyal CEO—add texture to this slow-burn drama about two broken people who must confront their deepest insecurities before they can heal. Director Hwang Da Seul abandons the fluffy rom-com formula of the first season for a more mature, melancholic tone. With breathtaking cinematography that contrasts summer’s warmth with winter’s isolation, a haunting OST, and powerhouse performances from Son Woo Hyun and Kim Kang Min, *To My Star 2* dares to show the ugly, painful side of love—the miscommunication, the fear of happiness, the self-destructive walls we build. It’s a story about learning that sometimes, the greatest act of love is letting yourself be vulnerable.

Painful but beautiful season two that outshines season one. This is not a feel-good watch—it's a masterclass in emotional storytelling. The timed flashbacks, stunning music, and lighting make this story of love, regret, and growth hit hard. The leads have grown so much, and even though most of the drama left a lump in my chest, I couldn't stop watching. If you're looking for fluff, go elsewhere, but if you want something that makes you feel everything, dive in.

The acting and chemistry are great, and the production quality is high. But I can't get past how they ruined Ji Woo's character. In S1 he was awkward but sweet; here he's cruel and emotionally abusive. They never properly justify his behaviour, and the mystery of the breakup drags on for too long. Yes, it's an 'experience,' but it felt manipulative rather than deep. I was glued to the screen, but not in a good way.

The cinematography is absolutely stunning—every shot could be a painting. The director clearly had more budget and creative freedom, and it shows. The story is angsty and painful, but the visuals and acting kept me invested. Kang Seo Joon is a beautifully written character, and the chemistry between the leads is undeniable. My only complaint is that Ji Woo's cruelty went a bit too far, making it hard to root for them at times. Still, a sequel that actually works.

I can't recommend this. The emotional abuse Ji Woo inflicts on Seo Joon is framed as 'realistic' but it's just toxic. Ghosting, gaslighting, sleeping with someone then treating them like dirt—none of this is justified by his backstory. The reconciliation is rushed and feels unearned. I'm all for complex relationships, but this crossed a line into cruelty. The acting is decent, but the writing glorifies unhealthy dynamics. Watch something that actually handles trauma responsibly.

The soundtrack is phenomenal. Son Woo Hyun and Kim Kang Min's duet '그럴때, 나는' gives me chills every time. The music perfectly underscores the melancholic winter atmosphere and the emotional beats. Even with the heavy angst, the OST made me fall in love with the story. I'll be replaying these songs for years. If you appreciate a good score, this series is a must-watch—just prepare your tissues.

Yes, it's painful, but that's the point. Relationships aren't always sunshine—they have rough patches, miscommunication, and pride. I loved how the show explored why Ji Woo ran away and how Seo Joon never gave up. Their love was palpable even through the pain. The cinematography and acting were top-notch. This season moved me more than any BL I've seen. If you can handle the angst, it's so worth it.

Shallow angst masquerading as depth. Ji Woo's 180-degree personality change makes no sense given S1, and the 'reconciliation' is laughably sudden—one hug and everything's fine? The first 8 episodes are a slog of cruelty and cold lighting, then they flip a switch. The director thinks if you cry enough it's art. I'd say skip this unless you want to ruin your happy memories of S1. Start at episode 9 for the fluff, but even that doesn't fix the damage.

Finally, a BL that doesn't shy away from the ugly side of love. Ji Woo's behaviour might be infuriating, but it's painfully real—people do push away the ones they love when they're broken. The lack of communication, the accumulation of small resentments—that's how relationships actually fall apart. The chemistry and acting are on point, and I appreciate the writers for not giving us empty fluff. This is a mature, honest story that will stay with me.
