In the twilight of the Joseon Dynasty, deposed Crown Prince Lee Heon lives in constant fear after his ruthless older brother seizes the throne and plots his final demise. Exiled to a secluded mountain village, the prince’s world is a washed-out grayscale—until he stumbles upon Eun Ho, a mysterious painter from the future who can see colors in a way no one else can. As they share quiet days painting by a stream and stealing glances beneath the summer sun, a tender, forbidden romance blooms between the lonely prince and the time-lost artist. But the threat of assassination looms, and Eun Ho knows his time in this era is borrowed. *Tinted with You* is a breathtakingly gentle love story that uses every brushstroke to paint the ache of transience, the beauty of found connection, and the courage to love even when goodbye is inevitable. With its soft palette, meditative pacing, and achingly sincere performances, this film offers a warm, melancholic escape into a world where art and heart intertwine.

This movie is like a warm hug on a rainy day. The chemistry between the prince and the painter is so soft and real—I melted every time they looked at each other. I’ve already rewatched it three times just for those quiet painting scenes. Pure sweetness!

I wanted to love it more, but the storyline feels underdeveloped and a bit vague. The time travel explanation is barely touched, and the last ten minutes are oddly rushed compared to the serene build-up. Still, the acting and atmosphere carry it—just don’t expect a watertight plot.

Every single shot is a painting! The color grading shifts from muted grays to warm pastels as the romance grows—a visual feast. The director knew exactly how to use light and shadow to mirror emotion. I’d watch it on mute just for the eye candy.

I appreciate how gently the power dynamics are handled—the prince is vulnerable yet respectful, and the painter never feels coerced. Their relationship blossoms from mutual curiosity and artistic appreciation. A refreshing, non-toxic BL that prioritizes emotional safety.

The piano score is absolutely haunting and complements the melancholic beauty of the story. I’ve been streaming the OST on repeat—the main theme perfectly captures the feeling of a fleeting summer love. The music alone makes this a must-watch for any BL fan.
