Timeline 2 is a Thai anthology film that weaves together four distinct stories of love, longing, and self-discovery among teenagers. In 'The Mind Reader,' popular senior Boss catches the eye of shy Sun, while a friend named Kit harbors a secret crush—creating a classic high school love triangle wrapped in fujoshi-fueled chaos. 'The Memory on Page 53' follows Nan and Phu on a trip that forces them to confront the painful breakup they've tried to forget five years ago, blending past and present with breathtaking sensitivity. 'Non-Verbal' introduces Ohm, a deaf young man whose instant connection with Tan is tested by a simple misunderstanding, resolved with the help of Tan's caring mother. The final story centers on Nine, a schoolboy drawn to Nong, a middle-aged trans woman selling fried bananas, sparking jealousy in Nine's classmate Man and leading to a bittersweet revelation about family and unspoken feelings. Directed by three filmmakers with distinct styles, this omnibus captures the awkwardness, sweetness, and heartbreak of young love in its many forms—including rare representation of a trans main character in 2016 Thai BL.

I'm a sucker for anthology love stories, and 'Timeline 2' really delivered. The second story about Nan and Phu broke me—the way the past and present blended was so beautiful. And having a trans character treated with such warmth in 2016? That alone makes this worth watching. Yes, the first story is cringy, but skip to the rest!

The plot holes in the second story drove me nuts—they never explain why Nan and Phu broke up even though they clearly still love each other. The first story is pure fujoshi-bait cringe, and the fourth story has weird romantic undertones that feel unresolved. The deaf representation in story three was nice but underdeveloped. A mixed bag overall.

Visually, this film surprised me. The second story directed by Artistaya Bangpao has gorgeous nature shots and seamless editing between timelines. The lighting in the trans woman's story was also very intimate. If only the first story didn't look like a typical messy school BL. Still, for an indie anthology, the cinematography stands out.

I have to applaud this film for its social value. In 2016, seeing a trans lead not be a comic relief was groundbreaking. Nong's story is handled with dignity—even if the possible romance undertones are ambiguous. The deaf character in 'Non-Verbal' also gets a sweet, respectful storyline. It's not perfect, but it opened doors. The fujoshi-heavy first story is a relic of its time, but the rest makes up for it.
