Season 2 of *Tide of Love* dives deeper into the turbulent romance between Hae Jun and Jae Hun as they attempt to celebrate their first Christmas and New Year together. Jae Hun surprises Hae Jun with a cozy getaway to another of his secret villas, hoping to create sweet holiday memories. But their idyllic retreat is shattered by the unexpected return of a figure from Jae Hun’s past, stirring old wounds and triggering Jae Hun’s possessive, controlling instincts. What follows is a claustrophobic psychological drama that tests the boundaries of love, trust, and redemption. Will their bond survive the shadows of manipulation, isolation, and trauma? This short, intense miniseries explores dark themes within a romance framework, offering a polarizing experience for viewers seeking something raw and uncomfortable rather than fluffy.

I wanted to like this because the visuals are genuinely pretty, but the story is a mess of abusive behavior passed off as romance. The kissing is painful to watch—one actor clearly isn't comfortable. Episode 3 was just uncomfortable and not in a good way. Hard pass.

I appreciate that they tried to have an actual storyline this season, but the execution is still terrible. The acting from the lead playing Hae Jun is wooden, and the sound design is laughably bad. The only saving grace is Kwak Geon Hee's performance. Not recommended.

This is not your typical fluffy BL. It's a raw, allegorical journey about trauma and unconditional acceptance. Yes, the production is rough, but if you look past that, it's one of the most honest portrayals of damaged love I've seen. I was deeply moved.

This show glorifies intimate partner abuse under the guise of romance. Isolation, tracking, slapping—none of that is sexy or healthy. The fact that the show presents Jae Hun's actions as love is deeply troubling. I couldn't finish it.

I really wanted to ship Jae Hun and Hae Jun, but the chemistry just isn't there. The kisses are so awkward it ruins every romantic moment. Jung Myeong Cheol tries his best, but his co-star is like kissing a statue. So disappointing after season 1.
