Get ready to be swept back to the early 2000s in this beautifully melancholic Thai BL film. 'The Yearbook' follows Phob and Nut, childhood friends whose bond is cemented by a simple promise: to chase their dreams together. But as high school ends and life pulls them in different directions, that promise is tested by a devastating, real-world challenge. This isn't a story of grand gestures or dramatic confessions; it’s a quiet, intimate portrait of first love under pressure. With a cinematic gaze that lingers on golden-hour rice fields and nostalgia-soaked classrooms, the movie captures the ache of growing up and the fear of losing someone you’ve always had. Expertly trimmed from a longer series, this version pares away distractions to focus solely on Phob and Nut’s emotional journey. Their unspoken feelings hang in the air, heavy with unspoken words, while the audience is left to wonder: can love survive when the future is uncertain? Prepare for a tear-jerking ride that prioritizes emotional truth over flashy tropes.

I absolutely loved this movie! Phob and Nut's story felt so real and heartwarming. The way they supported each other through tough times made me cry happy tears. The countryside settings and the gentle pace let me really soak in their love. No over-the-top drama, just pure, sweet connection. Perfect for a cozy watch.

The movie trimmed a lot of fat from the series but still suffers from too many flashbacks and awkward pacing. While the central conflict is more realistic than most BLs, the poor communication between the leads frustrated me. Some scenes drag on longer than necessary. It's decent, but not the masterpiece some claim.

Visually stunning. The cinematography is the movie's greatest strength — every frame looks like a photograph. The use of natural light and Thai countryside landscapes perfectly captures the nostalgic early 2000s vibe. Sure, a few shots linger too long, but the beauty makes up for it. A feast for the eyes.

The soundtrack is beautiful and evocative. The background music complements the emotional beats without overwhelming them. I especially loved the song that plays during the driving scenes — it instantly transports you back. My only complaint is that the sound mixing felt a bit off in some dialogue scenes. Still, the music alone is worth watching.

I appreciate that this movie tackles a serious health issue and shows the importance of communication and honesty in relationships. However, the breach of doctor-patient confidentiality bothered me from an ethical standpoint. That said, the film does raise valuable questions about supporting a loved one through illness. It's a thoughtful addition to BL that goes beyond romance.
