I am a sucker for twisted love stories, and this delivered. The way Yun Je and Jin Hyeok orbit each other — one a gentle killer, the other a ex-ballplayer turned guardian — made my heart ache. Yes, the episodes are frustratingly short, but binge them back-to-back and it feels like a tense, angsty movie. The kiss scene felt a bit shy, but the raw emotion in their eyes more than made up for it.

The premise is intriguing, but the execution is a mess. How does Jin Hyeok know Yun Je is a killer from the start? Why is the title 'Next Door' when they live together? The 1-2 minute episodes make everything feel rushed and nonsensical. The acting is decent, but the plot holes are huge — the father-killing twist especially felt unearned and gross. I wanted to love it, but the story needed proper development.

I wish the official OST was available on streaming. The music alone made the short episodes feel more cinematic. Agree with others that the plot needed more meat, but the audio design is top-tier for a vertical drama.
