In this emotionally charged 24-minute Taiwanese short film, a spontaneous basketball court encounter sparks an intense, whirlwind romance between Xiang, a passionate university student, and Vic, a mysterious police officer. Their connection is immediate and electric, leading to intimate confessions, steamy rendezvous, and a supportive aunt who embraces Vic's coming out. But beneath the surface of their dreamy new love lies a profound silence—a refusal to ask the simple questions that define a person. Neither knows what the other does for a living, and as their worlds collide in an unexpected protest, the distance between them becomes painfully audible. 'The Immeasurable' (original Chinese title: 'The Distance that Isn’t Heard') is a beautifully shot, metaphor-rich drama that explores how love can survive when two people stand on opposite sides of a societal divide. With stellar acting, stunning cinematography, and poignant symbolism (a goldfish and a fighter fish united), this short film captures the ache of loving someone you can’t fully understand. A must-watch for fans of thought-provoking, high-quality queer cinema.

I was blown away by the raw passion between Rosen and Trent! Every kiss, every touch felt so genuine—I actually squealed at my screen. Their chemistry alone makes this worth the watch, and the intimate scenes are tastefully steamy. I really felt for Xiang and Vic, even if their story broke my heart at the end.

Aesthetically pleasing but narratively hollow. The film jumps from scene to scene without any sense of time, and the characters never ask basic questions like 'What do you do for a living?' It's a huge plot hole that undermines the drama. The ending felt rushed and unresolved. Watchable for the hot actors, but don't expect a coherent story.

The cinematography is absolutely stunning—every frame is like a painting. The color grading shifts perfectly between warm golden hues of intimacy and cold blues of conflict. The fish metaphor is beautifully visualized. Even with its short runtime, this film proves that visual storytelling can carry deep emotional weight. A masterclass in cinematic craft.

I appreciated that the film doesn't dwell on homophobia—it shows a world where being gay is accepted. Instead, it tackles the harder question: can you love someone whose values oppose yours? The lack of communication between Xiang and Vic felt realistic, not illogical. The protest scene is a powerful metaphor for how we stop listening to those we care about. Not perfect, but socially relevant.

The music in this short film is phenomenal—it amplifies every emotion without being overpowering. From the tender acoustic moments during their love scenes to the tense ambient sounds during the protest, the audio design is flawless. I immediately searched for the soundtrack after watching. It's rare to see a short film pay this much attention to its soundscape.
