In the biting cold of a Seoul winter, Jungsoo reaches out to his ex-boyfriend Hobin, asking him to meet at the Han River – the same place where their love story once began. Hobin arrives expecting a simple exchange of belongings, a final tidy closure to a painful breakup. But Jungsoo has other plans. Armed with a stolen watch and a desperate, mischievous calm, he pushes Hobin to confront not just their shared past, but the unresolved feelings that still simmer beneath the frosty air. This 10-minute short film captures an emotionally charged, realistic conversation between two men caught between letting go and giving in. The sparse dialogue, raw performances, and the stark winter landscape create an intimate, almost voyeuristic experience. The Coldest Day is a beautifully acted slice-of-life drama that questions whether second chances are a gift or a manipulation, all while leaving you with the ache of what might have been. Perfect for fans of nuanced, character-driven micro-dramas.

I loved the raw emotion between these two. The acting felt so real, like I was eavesdropping on a real breakup. The location was perfect, and that kiss gave me chills. I just wish it was longer so I could see more of their history.

It's barely 10 minutes long, so there's no room for any real character development. Jungsoo's manipulation was uncomfortable and the ending felt forced. A decent attempt at realism, but the emotional payoff isn't earned.

This film romanticizes emotional manipulation and a non-consensual kiss. The watch theft and guilt-tripping are portrayed as romantic, which is troubling. I can't recommend it without a strong trigger warning. Hobin deserved better.

The cinematography is lovely – the grey winter tones, the empty riverside, the framing of their faces. It's a beautiful short to look at. The story is minimal, but the visuals and acting carry a lot of weight. Music was forgettable though.

For a no-budget short film, this packs an incredible punch. The actors have this natural chemistry that makes the dialogue feel improvised. I love how the cold weather mirrors the emotional distance. A hidden gem for fans of realistic BL.
