In the heart of a Filipino Catholic all-boys high school, senior students Dominic and Luke are two souls on seemingly separate paths—until a chance encounter with a fortune teller named Baby R sets their destinies ablaze. Told that his one true love is waiting for him at an optional school retreat called 'Journey with the Lord,' Dominic, an openly effeminate and devoutly religious boy, embarks on a spiritual weekend full of prayer, games, and unexpected romance. There, he meets Luke, a popular jock who has a girlfriend and a crew of homophobic friends. Despite the church's conservative teachings and the pressures of teenage life, the two boys find themselves drawn together by an undeniable, fate-tugged connection. As they navigate stolen glances, secret meetings, and the thrill of first love, they must decide whether to follow the stars—or forge their own path. This tender, music-filled Filipino BL film balances humor with heartfelt drama, asking whether destiny is written or chosen, all while celebrating the messy, beautiful reality of queer love in a religious setting.

I absolutely adored this movie! Dominic and Luke have such sweet, tentative chemistry—every shy smile and awkward touch made my heart flutter. The lantern field scene is pure magic; I rewatched it three times. Yes, the ending felt a little fast, but the overall feeling of hope and destiny kept me smiling for days.

The visual storytelling here is stunning. Every frame is bathed in soft, golden light that makes the high school corridors and chapel look dreamy. The use of mini lanterns in the night field is one of the most romantic shots I've seen in any BL. The editing occasionally stumbles, but the director's eye for composition more than compensates.

I struggled with this one. The premise is cute, but Luke's acting is painfully wooden—his emotional crisis never lands. The third act sets up multiple conflicts (his homophobic friends, the prom date) and then just ignores them. The ending felt like a deus ex machina from the fortune teller. It needed another rewrite to actually resolve character arcs.

The music is the real star here. Bugoy Drilon's 'Ulan' plays at such a perfectly bittersweet moment that I still get chills. Adrian Lindayag's singing voice is gorgeous—I wish they'd released a full OST. The background score never overpowers; it just lifts every emotional beat. I'd watch it again just for the songs.

I appreciate how this film gives an effeminate gay lead center stage without mocking him. The religious setting is handled with nuance—showing that faith and queer identity can coexist, which is important for conservative audiences. However, I was troubled by how Dominic's 'destiny' argument felt like pressure on Luke, blurring consent. The female ex-girlfriend is also reduced to a plot device, which is a missed opportunity.
