Best, an awkward high schooler with a crush on the popular Dew, navigates the thrilling yet painful rollercoaster of first love. With the unwavering support of his best friends, Ray and Bright, Best devises sweetly clumsy plans to get closer to Dew. But as their connection deepens, external pressures—including a jealous classmate and Dew’s traditional mother—threaten to tear them apart. This three-episode miniseries captures the raw, relatable emotions of teenage romance: the giddy anticipation, the heart-pounding shyness, and the bittersweet reality of loving someone when the world isn’t ready. Featuring standout performances from Yin Anan Wong and War Wanarat, *The Best Story* is a beautifully crafted, emotionally resonant tale of self-discovery, friendship, and the courage it takes to say 'I like you.'

I absolutely adored this short series. War and Yin have the most amazing chemistry - every shy glance and nervous smile from Best made my heart flutter. The way they portrayed first love felt so authentic, and I was crying by the end. Even without kisses, this is one of the most romantic BLs I've seen. And the friends were adorable too! Highly recommend if you want a sweet but emotional story.

While the acting is solid, the plot is painfully cliché - shy guy likes popular guy, homophobic mom intervenes. The female villain trope is tired and the ending felt rushed. Also, missing subtitles for crucial text messages made the climax confusing. For a 3-episode series, it needed tighter writing. Not terrible, but nothing groundbreaking.

Visually, this miniseries is a treat. The warm, dreamy color grading perfectly captures the nostalgia of young love. Each frame is meticulously composed - the school scenes with golden hour lighting are stunning. The camera work during emotional close-ups draws you right into the characters' feelings. A masterclass in making a low-budget production look cinematic.

The OST is the heart of this series. War's voice in the main song is so tender and emotional - I've been listening to it on repeat. The instrumental scores seamlessly amplify every moment, from the fluttering crush scenes to the heartbreaking climax. The music alone made me feel the entire emotional journey. A must-watch for anyone who appreciates how sound can elevate storytelling.

This series bravely tackles outing and parental homophobia, but it falls into the trap of demonizing a jealous female character to drive the plot. Fern's actions are wrong, but the lack of nuance reduces her to a villain. I appreciated the realistic portrayal of Best's internal struggle and the supportive friend group, but the ending reinforces a painful narrative that queer love must be hidden. Important conversation starter, but could have handled it better.
