After surviving a brutal night that stole everything he loved, Sun emerges from prison with a heart full of vengeance. On his 18th birthday, he lost his best friend Kong and his father in a violent ambush, leaving him shattered and alone. Three years later, he builds the Bangkok Boys—a ruthless underground gang—to claw his way through Bangkok's criminal underworld and uncover the truth behind those deaths. But his path collides with Peace, a gentle Korean artist who is the son of the very man Sun is hunting. Their forbidden love blooms amid betrayal, bloodshed, and impossible choices. This isn't your typical BL romance; it's a visceral, high-stakes revenge saga where love is both a weapon and a wound. With stunning cinematography, raw performances, and action sequences that rival top-tier crime dramas, *The Bangkok Boy* pushes the boundaries of the genre. Expect moral gray zones, shocking twists, and an ending that leaves you desperate for more.

Finally, a BL that doesn't shy away from real fight choreography! Every punch, every kick, every gunshot feels earned. The prison brawl in episode 1 sets the tone, and it only gets better. Choi Seung Ho's kicks are a work of art. Forget the romance–I'm here for the blood, sweat, and tactical takedowns. Best action in any Thai BL period.

I wanted to love this, but the writing collapses in the second half. Too many plot twists that feel thrown in for shock value, and the finale info-dump made my head spin. Characters make illogical decisions just to move the story forward. The Romeo-and-Juliet setup had potential, but the execution felt rushed and messy. A solid 6 for effort and visuals, but the plot needed another draft.

Visually, this is a masterpiece. The color grading is moody and intentional–every alleyway, every neon-lit rooftop, every rain-soaked street feels like a painting. The camera work during fight scenes is fluid and dynamic, not shaky or confusing. Even the quieter moments between Sun and Peace are framed with emotional weight. If you appreciate cinematography, this is a must-watch regardless of plot flaws.

This series doesn't romanticize gang life–it shows the ugly, traumatizing reality. I appreciate that it never frames Sun's violence as justified heroism; instead, it highlights the cycle of abuse and revenge. However, the handling of Mei's sexual assault storyline felt rushed and emotionally brushed aside. The show has strong intentions but needs more follow-through on its social commentary.

I'm a sucker for angsty, star-crossed love, and SunPeace had the foundation for something epic. Their first meeting at the art gallery was electric. But the romance got buried under all the gang warfare. By the time they finally got a proper scene together, I'd lost some emotional investment. The NC scene was raw but lacked warmth. Still, I can't deny the chemistry when they're on screen–I just wish we got more of 'them' and less of 'them fighting'.
