In this audacious 30-minute Korean BL short film, popular gay heartthrob Ha Jun seems to have it all—except for the loyalty of his jealous friend Min Woo. Driven by envy, Min Woo summons a devilish ghost to curse Ha Jun, but the supernatural plan backfires spectacularly when the ghost becomes infatuated with its intended victim instead. What follows is a bizarre, sexy, and darkly comedic love triangle between a man who can see spirits, a jealous schemer, and a ghost who’s very keen on physical affection. Blending horror jump-scares with steamy romance and unexpected humor, *Sweet Curse* offers a refreshingly weird twist on the classic 'curse gone wrong' trope. While its breakneck pace leaves some narrative gaps, the film's bold creativity, memorable NSFW scenes, and intriguing premise make it a standout for viewers hungry for something different in BL.

I absolutely adored the twisted romance between Ha Jun and the ghost! The chemistry was electric, especially in that intimate scene—so raw and passionate. Yes, it's short and leaves questions, but who cares when the leads are this captivating? I’m rewatching it just for the thrill.

The premise is cool, but the execution is a mess. Min Woo’s jealousy has zero motivation, the ghost’s powers are unexplained, and the romance feels unearned—more like 'lust at first f***' than love. A 30-minute runtime can’t fix poor storytelling. I wanted to like it, but the plot holes are too big.

Visually, this film punches above its budget. The dim lighting and slow-motion distortion effectively sell Ha Jun’s disoriented state, and the ghost’s makeup is genuinely creepy-cute. Some scenes are too dark, but the cinematography during the sex scene is surprisingly artistic—not just gratuitous. A visual treat for indie BL lovers.

Interesting as a horror-comedy, but the power dynamics bother me. The ghost essentially sexually assaults Ha Jun initially, yet it's played for laughs and romance. Min Woo’s manipulation is also deeply troubling. I appreciate the attempt at a queer horror narrative, but the lack of clear consent in the central 'relationship' feels glossed over.

The sound design and music really enhance the eerie vibe—that creepy alarm-clock-like synth during the scare scenes is brilliant. The silly yet fitting background score during lighter moments keeps the tone balanced. Too bad the film is too short for a proper OST release; I’d totally loop that theme.
