Surfing follows Ji-min, a seasoned surfer who has traveled the world chasing the perfect wave, only to return home carrying unseen scars from his past. When he encounters Jae-won, a shy art major who has never touched a surfboard but is drawn to the ocean's beauty, an unexpected connection forms. Through shared lessons on the water and quiet moments on the shore, Ji-min teaches Jae-won to ride the waves, while Jae-won helps Ji-min confront the emotional turbulence he's been avoiding. This six-episode Korean BL miniseries is a tender, visually stunning journey of healing and self-discovery, capturing the delicate balance between passion and vulnerability. With breathtaking coastal cinematography and a slow-burn romance that feels as natural as the tide, Surfing is a heartfelt ode to finding your footing—both in the surf and in love.

I am absolutely melted by this show. The way Ji-min and Jae-won slowly open up to each other—every shy smile, every accidental touch—it's pure poetry. The beachside confession scene had me sobbing. This is exactly the kind of tender, healing love I crave in BL.

Beautiful to look at, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes. The side characters feel underdeveloped, and the conflict resolution is a bit too neat. I wanted more grit, especially given the mental health themes. Still, the leads have nice chemistry.

This is one of the most visually stunning K-BLs I've seen. The color grading shifts from cool blues to warm golds as the relationship deepens—subtle but brilliant. The shots of the waves crashing are metaphoric and gorgeous. A director's cut with commentary would be a dream.

I appreciate how the show handles Ji-min's trauma without making Jae-won a 'fixer.' Their relationship is built on mutual respect and clear boundaries. The scene where Jae-won asks before touching Ji-min's scar is a masterclass in consent. More BLs should take notes.

The soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful—every guitar strum and piano note perfectly matches the ebb and flow of the story. The main theme 'Ride the Wave' gives me chills every time it plays during the montage scenes. I've had it on repeat for weeks.
