Sakuraba Isumi is a university student with a baby face and a passion for cooking. One night, after a few too many drinks, he's mistaken for a minor by Amasawa Kyosuke, a kind but straightforward police officer. The misunderstanding is cleared up, but fate brings them together again when Kyosuke becomes a regular at the convenience store where Isumi works. Concerned about the officer's unhealthy eating habits, Isumi offers to cook for him—and so begins a tender, slow-burn romance built on shared meals and quiet companionship. As they spend more time together, Isumi's feelings deepen, while Kyosuke slowly realizes that what he feels is more than friendship. With the help of loyal friends and a lot of delicious home-cooked food, this sweet story explores the courage it takes to love and be loved. A gentle, heartwarming series that proves the way to someone's heart is often through their stomach.

I am absolutely melting. Isumi and Kyosuke are the cutest pair I've seen all year. Every time they shared a meal or just looked at each other, I couldn't stop grinning. It's pure fluff with no angst, exactly what I need after a long day. The way Isumi cares for Kyosuke through food is so romantic. More of this, please!

It's cute, but let's be honest—the plot is paper-thin. We get endless cooking scenes and misunderstandings that resolve in five minutes. The age gap didn't bother me, but the lack of real conflict made the middle episodes drag. I wanted more depth in Kyosuke's perspective. Still, it's harmless entertainment, just don't expect a masterpiece.

Visually, this drama is a treat. The warm lighting in the tiny kitchen, the close-ups of chopping vegetables and simmering broth—it's pure comfort cinema. Even the cramped apartment is shot in a way that feels intimate, not claustrophobic. The color grading leans into soft pastels that match the fluffy tone perfectly. A feast for the eyes.

I read the manga first, and while the drama captures the sweet atmosphere, it changes some key beats. The ending montage replaced actual scenes that explored Kyosuke's internal struggle, which disappointed me. Also, the 'we are both guys' line felt more forced here than in the source. Still, Tanaka Koki's performance as Isumi is spot-on—he brought the puppy energy I loved.

This series is mostly harmless fluff, but I can't ignore some troubling undertones. The age gap (11 years) combined with Kyosuke's authority as a police officer creates a power imbalance that's never addressed. Also, the 'I'll cook for you' offer happens before they're even friends—some might find it sweet, but it reads as rushing into caretaking roles. On the plus side, Isumi's friends provide genuine support and call out boundaries. It's a mixed bag.
