When Seong Yun stumbles on his first day at a rigorous cram school, sending a cascade of candies across the floor, the last thing he expects is a knight in a hoodie. Hyeon Su, a quiet and seemingly cold loner, kneels down to help him gather the sweets, and in that brief moment of shared smiles, Seong Yun’s world tilts. What follows is a delicate, candy-colored courtship as the bubbly foodie Seong Yun uses his beloved snacks as an icebreaker, trying to crack Hyeon Su’s guarded shell. But beneath the surface of this sugary romance lies a deeper struggle: Hyeon Su battles an eating disorder, and Seong Yun’s own loneliness mirrors his. Over just two episodes, *Something Sweet* serves up a tender, realistic portrait of two young men learning to nourish not just their bodies, but their hearts. With its compact runtime, the drama packs emotional punch, celebrating the small, sweet moments that bloom into love.

I absolutely melted watching Seong Yun use candy to win over cold Hyeon Su. Their chemistry is so natural, and the way Hyeon Su slowly opens up made my heart ache. Two episodes wasn't enough—I wanted more of their sweet moments! Perfect for a quick feel-good watch.

It's cute but underdeveloped. The eating disorder storyline gets introduced and then barely resolved within two episodes. The romance feels rushed, and I wish they'd used the short runtime more effectively to flesh out Hyeon Su's character. Still, the acting is decent and the candy motif is charming.

Visually this drama is a treat. The pastel color grading and soft lighting make every frame feel like a warm hug. The close-ups on the candies and the quiet, intimate shots of the two leads sharing a table are beautifully composed. Aesthetic pleasure outweighs the thin plot.

I appreciate that they tried to address an eating disorder, but the portrayal felt superficial and almost romanticized. Hyeon Su's recovery is magically helped by Seong Yun's candy, which sends a problematic message about mental health. For a serious topic, it needed more nuance and less sugar-coating.

The soft acoustic guitar OST fits the mood perfectly—every time the melody swelled during their quiet moments, I felt my heart flutter. The background music does a lot of heavy lifting in conveying emotion since the runtime is so short. I've already added the songs to my playlist.
