When Phat moves into a rented house with his mother, the last thing he expects is a roommate from beyond the grave. Enter Phob, a handsome but amnesiac ghost who has been lingering in the home for reasons he can't remember. Bound by a mysterious 49-day deadline tied to the anniversary of Phob's death, the two must work together to unravel the secrets of Phob's past—and the tragedy that cut his life short. As they dig into forgotten memories, dark family secrets, and eerie supernatural forces, an unexpected romance blossoms between the living and the dead. But with time running out and the line between worlds growing thin, Phat and Phob must confront the ultimate question: can love truly transcend death, or are some goodbyes inevitable? Blending heartfelt romance, gentle comedy, and genuine emotional stakes, *Something in My Room* is a beautifully melancholic ghost story that reminds us to cherish every fleeting moment.

I am absolutely wrecked. The way Phat and Phob look at each other—my heart can't take it. Their kisses are so tender and meaningful, not just thrown in for fanservice. And that ending? I cried for an hour. This is exactly the kind of deeply emotional romance I live for. Plan and Nut were perfect together.

I wanted to love this, but the inconsistent ghost rules drove me crazy. One minute they can't touch, the next they're cuddling without explanation. And the side plots—alien-obsessed Luck, the landlady's cameras—lead nowhere. The core romance is sweet, but the storytelling is messy. It could have been a tight 8-episode drama instead of dragging with filler.

Visually, this series is a feast. The lighting in the house scenes shifts from warm and golden to cold and blue, perfectly mirroring the emotional transition from hope to melancholy. The dream sequences are beautifully shot, and even the 'evil spirits' have a stylized horror aesthetic that doesn't rely on cheap jump scares. Director Tee has an incredible eye.

The music here is phenomenal. Plan's OST 'Just Like a Dream' is catchy but also hauntingly fits the story's tone. More importantly, the classical piano pieces used during the emotional climaxes are perfect—they amplify the grief without overwhelming the scene. I actually added several tracks to my playlist. The sound design alone elevates this above typical BL.

I appreciate that the series tackles the reality of a ghost-human relationship without romanticizing death. Phat is allowed to live a full life, get married, and only reunite with Phob in the afterlife naturally. There's no toxic 'die for love' message. However, the show's treatment of the female characters—Dream's skills sidelined, the landlady's stalker behavior forgiven—feels outdated. Still, a thoughtful effort.
