In this raw, experimental Taiwanese short film, a lonely college student named Sunny steps into a shadowy underworld when he responds to a dating app invitation for a group encounter. He meets four other men—the detached host Roger, the emotionally entangled 'Uncle,' the wandering L, and the curious Duke—inside a dimly lit apartment that becomes a stage for both physical intimacy and emotional isolation. As the night unfolds, the film peels back layers of desire, grief, and yearning, revealing how each man copes with a deep-seated emptiness. Through sparse dialogue and hauntingly beautiful visuals, *Sodom's Cat* examines the aching gap between carnal connection and genuine human bonding. It’s an arthouse meditation on loneliness in the digital age—unflinching, ambiguous, and not afraid to leave viewers unsettled. This is less a romance and more a psychological portrait of souls colliding in the dark, searching for something they may never find.

The lighting and editing in this film are absolutely mesmerizing. Every frame feels like a painting, and the way the camera lingers on faces during silent moments says more than any dialogue could. It's not your typical BL—it's a visual poem about isolation and the strange beauty of anonymous encounters.

I appreciate the attempt at depth, but the non-linear storytelling and ambiguous ending left me more frustrated than enlightened. The orgy scenes feel repetitive, and the characters are thinly sketched. I see what they were going for, but it feels like a draft that needed more polish.

This film is a bold critique of how we use sex to fill emotional voids. It doesn't romanticize the orgies—it shows the emptiness underneath, the awkward silences, the longing for connection that never quite happens. A must-watch for anyone interested in queer psychology and the ethics of casual hookups.

I went in expecting at least some romantic development, but this is just sad and confusing. Nobody ends up together, there's no sweet moments, just a lot of staring and awkward sex. If you want actual love stories, skip this one.
