In the hazy glow of early summer, teenage Wei flees his home and follows his uncle to Tainan for a university field research project. What begins as an escape quickly turns into a whirlwind of misadventure when Wei accidentally disrupts a vibrant temple fair parade, sending chaos through the crowd. Amid the confusion, he locks eyes with a stoic local student who helps him untangle the mess—and an unexpected connection begins to bloom. As Wei navigates the unfamiliar rhythms of a new city, he finds himself drawn into a slow, tender romance that challenges his fears and opens his heart. Set against sun-drenched streets, night markets, and the quiet intimacy of summer nights, 'Believe In You' is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about running away—and finding somewhere—and someone—to belong. With its playful clumsiness, genuine emotional beats, and a refreshingly grounded take on first love, this Taiwanese miniseries delivers a warm, authentic queer romance that feels like a sweet summer breeze.

As a romantic shipper, this drama absolutely melted my heart. Wei and his love interest have such natural chemistry—every shy glance and accidental hand brush felt real. The temple fair scene where they first meet is pure magic. I watched it twice already!

I wanted to love this more, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes, and some side plots feel underdeveloped. The main romance is sweet, but if you're a plot critic like me, you'll notice a few convenient coincidences. Still, it's a pleasant watch for a lazy afternoon.

The cinematography is stunning—the golden hour shots in Tainan, the vibrant temple parade colors, and the soft focus on the leads' faces make every frame a postcard. As an aesthetics geek, I appreciated the deliberate visual storytelling even in quiet moments. A feast for the eyes.

I appreciate that the series handles consent and emotional boundaries gently—neither lead pressures the other, and their relationship develops through mutual support and understanding. It's a refreshing change from more aggressive BL tropes. However, the runaway storyline could have explored family dynamics deeper.

The OST is gorgeous! That soft guitar theme that plays during their rooftop scene gives me chills every time. It perfectly captures the bittersweet yearning of summer love. I've been looping the soundtrack on Spotify. Music lovers, don't skip this one.
