In the quiet, smoky haze of a late-night Shanghai bar called 'Happiness,' two waiters are almost done closing up when a mysterious young man slips through the door, followed closely by another. What begins as a chance encounter in the dimly lit, intimate space quickly turns into a charged, silent dance of glances, proximity, and unspoken longing. This short film captures a raw, fleeting connection between two strangers, using the city's neon glow and the bar's stillness to amplify every heartbeat and whispered breath. With no words wasted, 'Shanghai Night' is a beautifully minimalist romance that explores the magic of what happens when two souls find each other in the most unexpected moment.

I adore how this short film uses silence and space to tell its story. The chemistry between the two leads is palpable even though they barely speak. It's not groundbreaking, but as a mood piece it's gorgeous. Perfect for a late-night watch.

Honestly, it's too short to leave a real impression. The atmosphere is nice but there's barely any plot or character depth. I get what they were going for, but it felt more like a concept trailer than a complete story. Fine for background mood.

This was my first BL short film and I loved it! The longing in their eyes, the way the neon lights reflected their emotions—it felt so real and intimate. It's a gentle, beautiful romance without any of the awkward tropes. Highly recommend for a quick emotional pick-me-up.

The background music is subtle but effective—it really carries the mood. Unfortunately, the film doesn't give you enough time to connect with the characters before it ends. The song that plays during their final moment is the standout for me. Wish it was longer.

As a queer narrative, it's refreshing to see a simple story about two strangers connecting without trauma or drama. But I wish there was more depth—maybe a hint of backstory or consent in their interaction. The power dynamic of one following the other into a closed bar feels ambiguous and could be read as boundary-pushing.
