In a descent born of profound despair, elite office worker Katsuragi Makoto attempts to end his life, only to awaken in a stranger's room—bound, vulnerable, and at the mercy of Yoden Ryuji. What begins as a nightmare of captivity and systematic assault spirals into something far more complex: a raw, unflinching examination of power, trauma, and the twisted bonds that can form in the darkest of circumstances. As Ryuji subjects Makoto to brutal 'training' designed to break his will, an unsettling psychological game unfolds—one where victim and captor blur lines, and cries for help become tangled with unexpected survival instincts. Dangerous Drugs of Sex is not a love story in any conventional sense; it is a visceral, controversial drama that dares to explore the extremes of human connection, pushing viewers to question the nature of consent, control, and the fragile line between destruction and salvation. Harrowing and unapologetically graphic, this Japanese film offers an intense, cathartic experience for those who seek narratives that refuse to look away from the shadows of the human soul.

I can't lie—I was drawn to the twisted intensity of this film. The chemistry between the leads is toxic but magnetic, and I found myself strangely invested in their sick dance. It's not a romance; it's a car crash you can't look away from. Just be ready for the discomfort.

The premise is intriguing, but the execution feels repetitive—scene after scene of assault with little narrative progression. The psychological angle gets lost in the shock value. I wanted more depth, but instead got a loop of pain. Not my cup of tea.

Visually stunning for such a grim story. The use of shadows, tight frames, and muted tones perfectly mirrors the emotional imprisonment. Every shot feels deliberate. If you appreciate filmmaking over plot comfort, this is a masterclass in atmospheric dread.

I watched this for research on dark BL, but the unrelenting graphic non-consent without any real critique or redemption made me feel sick. It romanticizes abuse under the guise of psychological drama. There's a difference between exploring darkness and exploiting it. Hard pass.

As someone who read the original manga, I appreciated that the film stays faithful to the source material's brutality. But the pacing drags, and the internal monologues that made the manga compelling are lost on screen. It's a decent adaptation, but not an improvement.
