In the high-stakes world of corporate Korea, Jung Da On is a brilliant salaryman whose quiet life hides a web of painful secrets. For over a decade, he has been caught between two possessive, obsessive men: his wealthy boss Kim Su Hyeon, whose violent jealousy masks a deep, twisted love, and his former tutor Jae Min, a charming professor whose manipulation runs far deeper than anyone suspects. When a kind, persistent new colleague named Seong Hyeon enters Da On's life, his gentle determination becomes both a lifeline and a trigger, forcing buried traumas to the surface. As Da On struggles to set boundaries and reclaim his own agency, the toxic love triangle erupts into a dangerous love square—one that pushes him to the edge of emotional collapse, kidnapping, and near-tragedy. Blending psychological drama with a dark, intricate romance, *Secret Relationships* is a gripping exploration of how love can blur into possession, and how one person's fight for freedom can break chains forged over years of manipulation.

I am absolutely OBSESSED. Seong Hyeon is the greenest flag ever and his devotion to Da On made my heart ache in the best way. The photo booth date, the way he waits patiently, the cake to the nose—I was crying happy tears. Yes, the toxic guys are scary, but the love story between Da On and Seong Hyeon is pure and earned. I've watched the last episode three times already!

Finally, a KBL that treats every frame like art! The color grading—yellow for Da On, green for Su Hyeon, pink for Jae Min, blue for Seong Hyeon—is genius. The lighting shifts from cold and harsh in toxic scenes to warm and soft whenever Seong Hyeon appears. Even the compositions, like the chess symbolism for Jae Min, add layers. This drama is a masterclass in visual storytelling.

I get the hype, but some of the character decisions made no sense. Da On willingly walking into Jae Min's trap alone after everything? And doing a presentation right after his love interest gets stabbed? Come on. The acting is good and the twists kept me watching, but the plotting in the last three episodes goes full makjang without earning it. Still, it's entertaining if you don't think too hard.

I appreciate that this drama doesn't romanticize abuse. Da On's trauma responses are painfully realistic—the flinching, the freezing, the way he can't say no outright out of fear. But I was disappointed that Seong Hyeon's non-consensual kiss (while Da On was drunk) was never addressed. The show does a great job showing how grooming and manipulation work, but that one scene needed accountability. Overall, a necessary conversation starter.

As a fan of the manhwa, I was nervous about the adaptation. The drama actually improves on the source material in some ways—the flashback structure is more effective, and the darker, more psychological tone works perfectly on screen. They cut some side plots but kept the core toxic love square intact. My only complaint is that Seong Hyeon's backstory is a bit glossed over. Still, a rare adaptation that does justice to a complex webtoon.
