Secret Love: Love Behind One's Back is a raw, emotionally charged 2014 Thai film that dives headfirst into the murky waters of love, temptation, and infidelity. The story follows Wan and Tar, a seemingly happy long-term couple whose stable world is shaken when Wan lands a new job. There, he meets his charismatic and intensely touchy-feely boss, Ohm, and finds himself falling hard. Tar senses the shift but his attempts at communication are met with evasion, and soon a painful love triangle emerges—one that even draws Tar and Ohm into an unexpected connection. Based on a true story, this early BL work from acclaimed director Jojo Tichakorn doesn't shy away from messy, real emotions. With palpable tension, ambiguous encounters, and a thought-provoking open ending, it's a compelling exploration of how easily even the strongest bonds can fray when desire and opportunity collide.

Okay, the plot is a mess, but the chemistry between these three guys is INSANE. I was rooting for the throuple even though I knew it was toxic. Ten and Pop are so handsome and their tension? Wow. I've watched the 'wristwatch' scene like five times.

The story had potential but the execution was muddled. Too much is left ambiguous—did anything really happen? Characters act irrationally and communication is virtually nonexistent. The ending felt abrupt and unsatisfying, like they ran out of time.

For a low-budget early BL, the visual storytelling is surprisingly effective. The director uses tight close-ups and warm lighting to amplify intimacy. Sure, some shots are amateurish, but the way the camera lingers on faces says more than dialogue ever could. A fascinating glimpse into Jojo's early style.

I appreciate that the film doesn't romanticize infidelity but instead shows the pain and confusion. However, the workplace power dynamic between Ohm and Wan is deeply problematic—Ohm's touching is clearly harassment, yet it's portrayed as charming. A missed opportunity to address consent.

I came for the love triangle but stayed for the potential polyamory. The rooftop scene where Ohm suggests all three of them be together? That was the highlight. I wish the film had explored that rather than the constant miscommunication. Still, the angst between Tar and Ohm had me gripping my seat.
