What happens to a love story after it ends? 'Sametara Dose Wasureru Yume de mo' dives into the messy, bittersweet aftermath of a broken relationship. Ryo and Kaoru once shared a deep bond, but now they live separate lives, haunted by memories of what they had. Ryo tries to move forward by starting a secret affair with Kota, a married coworker, while Kaoru struggles to keep his acting career alive while sharing a cramped apartment with his new roommate, Aoi. As the two former lovers navigate loneliness, guilt, and the ache of unresolved feelings, the series gently unpacks the question: can you truly let go of someone who still lives in your heart? With raw performances and an intimate, slow-burn storytelling style, this Japanese BL web series offers a poignant exploration of love, loss, and the quiet courage it takes to heal. A must-watch for fans who appreciate emotional realism over fairy-tale endings.

I cried so much watching this. The way Ryo and Kaoru look at each other—like they're drowning in memories—broke me. It's not a happy love story, but it feels so real. If you've ever loved and lost, this drama will hit you right in the chest.

I appreciate the attempt at realism, but the pacing is painfully slow. Nothing much happens across 8 episodes—just a lot of longing stares and awkward silences. The subplot with Kota felt underdeveloped. Good acting, but the story needed more meat.

Visually, this drama is a quiet masterpiece. The soft lighting, the muted color palette, the way rain and shadows mirror the characters' emotions—stunning. Every frame feels like a photograph. The story may be minimalist, but the cinematography speaks volumes.

I appreciate that the show centers emotional consent and the messiness of moving on. However, Ryo's affair with a married man is never fully interrogated—it's just presented as his coping mechanism. I wish the writing had taken a deeper ethical stance rather than romanticizing the pain.

The soundtrack is gorgeous. That piano theme that plays every time Kaoru walks home alone—I get chills. The music perfectly captures the ache of holding onto someone you've lost. I've been listening to the OST on repeat since I finished the series.
