Set against the lush, politically charged backdrop of 1963, *Love in the Moonlight* follows Prince Saenkaew, a gentle soul burdened by family duty and a father who blames him for his mother's death. Forced into an arranged marriage with Pinanong to secure his family's wealth during a transfer of assets to Thailand, his world shifts when he meets Sasin—Pinanong's charismatic, free-spirited cousin. What begins as a reluctant friendship between a repressed prince and a fiery musician blooms into a forbidden, soul-deep connection that challenges tradition, loyalty, and self-worth. As secrets, family betrayals, and political machinations threaten to tear them apart, Saenkaew and Sasin must decide if their love is worth the cost of everything they've ever known. This cinematic Thai period drama weaves lush visuals, heart-wrenching performances, and a hauntingly beautiful love story that transcends time, duty, and fear.

I'm absolutely wrecked in the best way. Peak and Pearl's chemistry is off the charts—every look, every hesitation, every hand touch felt like a piece of my heart being stolen. The love letters scene had me sobbing. This is Thai BL poetry. If you crave a slow-burn that makes you believe in soulmates, don't miss this.

I wanted to love it, but the plot holes and character decisions drove me crazy. Why would the prince and Sasin keep flaunting their romance in plain sight? The villains are cartoonishly evil, and the redemption arcs for the father and Pin feel unearned. Yes, the acting is good and it looks pretty, but story logic took a backseat to melodrama.

Visually, this is one of the most stunning Thai shows I've ever seen. The color grading—warm ambers for the club scenes, cool blues for the palace—tells the emotional story as much as the actors. The heritage houses, the vintage cars, the way light falls through curtains... it's a feast for the eyes. Absolute craftsmanship.

While the central romance is tender, I struggled with how the narrative frames the father's abuse as 'concern' and Pin's manipulation as 'understandable.' Saenkaew's internalized homophobia is heartbreakingly realistic, but the show doesn't fully interrogate the power dynamics—it just rewards everyone in the end. Still, a valuable conversation starter about forced marriage and queer survival.

That main OST gets stuck in your head for days—it's melancholic yet hopeful, perfectly capturing the bittersweet mood. The background score during the confession scene gave me chills. I just wish they had used more variety instead of repeating the same track. Still, the music is a huge part of why this drama feels so emotionally immersive.
