In this charmingly offbeat Taiwanese indie miniseries, we meet Joey, a sweet and slightly clueless mechanical engineering student, and Dick, his handsome yet mysteriously invasive teaching assistant roommate. Their cramped two-bedroom dorm becomes a battleground of teasing, privacy invasion, and simmering tension—until a series of unexpectedly steamy dreams and awkward real-life encounters blur the line between fantasy and reality. With clever animated interludes, a catchy intro song, and a playful sitcom vibe, RoomMatch Series Pilot explores the hilarious and heartfelt chaos of living with your crush. It’s a short but addictive taste of a story that leaves you craving more.

I am absolutely obsessed with Joey and Dick! Their chemistry is off the charts, and those dream sequences had me blushing like crazy. For such short episodes, they packed in so much tension and sweetness. I NEED a full season!

The concept is fun and the acting is decent, but the pilot suffers from pacing issues typical of a low-budget indie. The first episode is confusing about whose dream we're in, and the random assault scene felt unnecessary. Still, I respect the ambition.

I was pleasantly surprised by the visual quality. The lighting in the dorm scenes creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere, and the animated dream sequences add a whimsical touch. The intro song is catchy too. More indie BL should look this good.

While the comedic tone is engaging, I cannot overlook the depiction of non-consensual kissing and attempted assault played for laughs. It romanticizes boundary violations in a way that feels irresponsible, especially for a BL targeting young audiences.

That intro song is an absolute banger! The music perfectly matches the playful yet tense vibe of the series. I also love the little sound effects during the dream transitions—they add so much personality. The soundtrack alone makes me want to rewatch.
