Over three days and two nights at a mysterious seaside hotel, four seemingly unrelated stories intertwine in this genre-bending Japanese BL anthology. A novelist on the brink of a breakdown meets his deadline in the most unexpected way. A beloved actor attempts a secret getaway with his lover, only to be hounded by paparazzi. A massage therapist with a hidden past crosses paths with a fortune teller who sees more than cards. And a receptionist grapples with a family reunion that stirs buried emotions. As supernatural forces blur the lines between reality and fate, these characters discover that love, laughter, and terror can coexist in the same room. Blending comedy, thriller elements, and heartfelt LGBTQ+ themes, "Room" delivers a uniquely chaotic yet tender exploration of second chances and found connections.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a 5-episode anthology, but this totally delivered. The way each story connects through the hotel's supernatural vibes is genius. The actor-and-lover plotline gave me major feels, and the comedic timing from the fortune teller was perfect. Wish it had been a bit longer to flesh out some threads.

Interesting concept but execution felt half-baked. The thriller elements were undercut by the comedy, and the supernatural twist at the end was too convenient. I liked the novelist's arc, but the receptionist storyline barely had time to breathe. If you want a quick watch with some cute moments, go for it, but don't expect tight plotting.

The cinematography is stunning! Every room has its own color palette—the beach scenes are dreamlike, and the hotel interior feels both cozy and eerie. I loved the lighting during the massage therapist's flashback. This is one of the most visually stylish Japanese BLs I've seen. The acting matches the quality too.

I appreciate that the show doesn't over-dramatize the LGBTQ+ aspects—it's just part of the characters' lives. The former teacher storyline handled the age gap with care, and the actor's secret relationship felt realistic. However, the suicidal supporting character was a bit heavy for such a short runtime and could have used more nuanced handling.
