What if death wasn't the end, but a breathtaking new beginning? That's the electrifying premise of *Reset*, a Thai BL that masterfully blends heart-pounding romance with a twist of fantasy. On the night of his greatest triumph, superstar actor Armin is betrayed and killed by the man he loved. But instead of fading to black, he jolts awake—25 years in the past, in his younger body, with all his memories intact. This isn't just a second chance at life; it's a chance to rewrite his destiny. Guided by a burning need to uncover the truth behind his death, Armin navigates the treacherous waters of the entertainment industry once more. But the biggest surprise is TD—a quiet, enigmatic fan who was always there, watching from the shadows. As Armin teams up with TD to build his career anew, he discovers that some connections are written in the stars. *Reset* is more than a revenge plot; it's a deeply emotional journey about healing, trust, and the transformative power of being seen. With stunning cinematography that evokes the late '90s, a lush soundtrack, and a narrative that balances suspense with swoon-worthy romance, this series is a love letter to anyone who believes in second chances. Prepare to have your heart reset.

I came for the time travel and stayed for the yearning. Thada looks at Armin like he hung the moon, and I am absolutely not okay. The pool scene in episode 6? I had to pause and catch my breath. Pond and Peterpan have this electric connection that feels so real—it’s not just acting, it’s magic. Yes, the villains are a bit over-the-top, but I don’t care. This is the kind of romance that makes you believe in soulmates. My heart has been reset indeed.

I wanted to love this because the premise is fantastic, but the execution let me down. Armin gains a second chance at life and what does he do? Spill secrets to random people and act like a panicked teenager instead of a 40-year-old man. The time-travel logic is virtually non-existent, and the villains are laughably cartoonish—stomping their feet and cackling like Disney rejects. The only reason this gets a 6 is the main couple’s chemistry, which is genuinely strong. But if you’re here for a clever revenge plot, look elsewhere.

Visually, this series is a feast. The late-90s aesthetic is lovingly recreated with vintage cars, flip phones, and warm color grading that instantly transported me. The rain scene in episode 1? Cinematography perfection. And the NC scenes are lit like art—purple-pink hues, soft focus, every frame a painting. The editing could be tighter and some CGI skies are a bit iffy, but overall, *Reset* is one of the best-looking BLs of the year. I just wish the plot matched the visuals.

The OST in *Reset* is a double-edged sword. On one hand, the main theme and ballads fit the angsty, romantic vibe perfectly—I’ve already added them to my playlist. On the other hand, the background score during intimate scenes is over-the-top, with sweeping strings that feel like they belong in a 90s lakorn, not a modern BL. Less is more, guys. Still, the music helps sell the emotional beats, especially in the final episodes. I’d give the soundtrack a solid B+.

I’m glad people enjoyed the romance, but as someone who watches BL with a sociological lens, this series left a bad taste. The power dynamics between the wealthy CEO Thada and the struggling actor Armin are never truly examined—Thada essentially sponsors and protects Armin, which creates an unequal foundation. Also, the queer experience in the 90s is barely touched upon; it’s glossed over as a minor inconvenience. And don’t get me started on how the only female characters are either villains or helpers with no depth. Disappointing.

As a fan of Crystaljade’s original novel, I had high hopes. The drama captures the core romance and Thada’s devotion beautifully, but it strays significantly from the book’s more nuanced revenge plot. The villains are much tamer here, and the side characters like Veynai are expanded (which I actually liked). If you haven’t read the novel, you’ll enjoy the series. If you have, prepare for some changes that feel like missed opportunities. Still, Pond and Peterpan are perfectly cast.

I’m here for the main couple (obviously), but can we talk about Veynai? That bodyguard is the true MVP—his deadpan comedic timing and loyalty made every scene better. And Janine, the manager, is the perfect foil. I NEED a spin-off about them. They have so much chemistry in their brief interactions! The show didn’t give them a proper arc, but I’ll take what I can get. The main leads are fire, but the side characters deserve more love.
