In this tender and twist-filled Japanese BL, top hairstylist Suzuki Hiroshi has reinvented himself since high school—but he hasn't forgotten the boy who made those years miserable. When Natsuo Washizawa, the cheerful but clueless classmate from his past, suddenly reappears and confesses his love, Hiro sees an opportunity: get close, get revenge, and get even. Yet his carefully laid plan begins to unravel as he discovers that Natsuo's version of their shared history is completely different. What Hiro remembered as cruel bullying was actually Natsuo's awkward, closeted way of showing affection. As they navigate dating, misunderstandings, and the ghosts of adolescence, the line between revenge and real feeling blurs. Set against the vibrant world of a hair salon and the quiet growth of a shared flower pot, this series explores how love can bloom from the most unexpected seeds—if you're brave enough to let go of the past.

I absolutely adored this! The slow-burn was perfect—watching Hiro go from cold revenge to genuinely caring for Natsuo melted my heart. That final bedroom scene? Chef's kiss. The flower pot metaphor made me cry. Best JBL I've seen in ages!

I wanted to like this more, but the identity crisis of the plot killed it for me. Is it a revenge story? A slice-of-life romance? It never commits. The salon competition subplot felt like filler, and the pacing dragged. Good acting, but the writing needed another pass.

I'm giving this a high score because of the conversation it started, but I have to warn: the assault scene in episode 8 is handled terribly—almost glossed over. That said, the rest of the series is a nuanced look at how past trauma shapes relationships. Natsuo's vulnerability and Hiro's slow awakening felt painfully real. Watch with caution.

I read the original 2-chapter manga and was worried about filler, but this adaptation expands the story thoughtfully. The high school flashbacks add necessary context, and I loved the height-role reversal. A few scenes dragged (the whole gardener subplot felt unnecessary), but overall it honors the source while making it feel complete.

This series is a visual treat. The warm lighting in the salon, the soft-focus garden scenes, and the way the camera lingers on tiny details like split ends or a flower petal—gorgeous. The color palette shifts from cool blues to warm golds as the romance deepens. Japan's BL directors know how to frame a story beautifully.
