Lu Yi Peng, a brilliant graduate of the Royal Hong Kong Police Cadet School, quickly climbs the ranks with a series of high-profile busts. But behind his most celebrated mission lies a dangerous secret: an unexpected, forbidden connection with the charismatic heir of a powerful criminal syndicate. As Lu Yi Peng infiltrates the underworld, he finds himself torn between his duty as a lieutenant and the magnetic pull of a man who should be his enemy. Their explosive chemistry blurs the lines of loyalty and desire, leading them both into a perilous dance of trust and betrayal. Set against the gritty backdrop of Hong Kong's mafia underworld, 'Red Peafowl' is a gripping tale of forbidden love, moral gray areas, and the high cost of protecting the ones you shouldn't love.

I came for the action and was not disappointed. The raid sequences are crisp, the gunplay feels grounded, and the tactical elements actually make sense for a police cadet. Sure, the romance is hot, but the choreography is what kept me glued to the screen. More shows need this level of stunt work.

Dollar and Lee Long Shi have insane chemistry! Every glance, every near-touch made my heart race. The enemies-to-lovers tension is perfectly executed, and when they finally give in to their feelings, it's pure fire. This is exactly the kind of angsty, passionate romance I live for.

I wanted to love this, but the pacing drags in the middle episodes, and some of the mafia logic is a bit too convenient. The romance carries the show, but if you're looking for a tight crime thriller, you might be frustrated. Still, the leads are charismatic enough to hold interest.

Visually, this is a feast. The neon-lit Hong Kong streets, the moody lighting in the mafia hideouts, and the color grading shift between police headquarters and the underworld are stunning. Every frame looks like a movie still. The costumes are also spot-on—especially the red peafowl motif.

The OST is a mix of haunting ballads and pulse-pounding instrumentals that perfectly complement the tension. That main theme song gives me chills every time—it captures the forbidden love and danger. Not every track is a hit, but the emotional peaks are elevated by the music.
