In this hauntingly beautiful South Korean indie film, we meet Pyung Beom Hae, a shy, insecure young man crippled by an appearance complex that pushes him into a world of digital deception. Lonely and longing for connection, he begins stealing photos of an ideal, stunningly handsome man—Do Do—from a gay dating app, pretending to be him. What follows is a surreal, dreamlike exploration of identity, desire, and the blurred line between reality and fantasy. As Beom Hae navigates everyday life and his secret online persona, the film masterfully weaves the two spaces together, creating an atmospheric meditation on self-worth and the masks we wear. With its hypnotic soundtrack, tender performances from a largely unknown cast, and a unique visual style that feels both intimate and otherworldly, *Queer Movie Beautiful* is a poignant, short-form gem that lingers long after its 47-minute runtime ends. It’s a raw, heartfelt story about learning to love yourself—even when you feel invisible.

I was completely mesmerized by this film. The way it blurs reality and the dating app world is unlike anything I've seen in Korean BL. The lead’s vulnerability is painfully real, and the music—oh, that opening track—stays with you for days. Yes, it's short, but every second feels intentional. A hidden masterpiece.

I appreciate the artistic ambition, but the narrative feels too fragmented. The switching between real life and app conversations left me confused at first, and the ending is abrupt. That said, the lead actor Baek In Kyu carries the emotional weight beautifully. It's a mood piece, not a plot-driven drama—so adjust expectations.

I am absolutely in love with the soundtrack. From the hypnotic Tibetan tones to the swelling emotional strings, every track perfectly captures Beom Hae's loneliness and longing. The film itself is a visual poem. I've already rewatched it four times just for the music alone. Pure art.

The chemistry between Beom Hae and Do Do is so tender and fragile, it broke my heart. I wanted more scenes of them together, but the brief moments we get are electric. The red beret scene is iconic. If only it were longer, I'd give it a 10. A sweet, melancholic love story about seeing yourself through someone else's eyes.

The film bravely tackles body image and internalized shame in the gay community, which I respect. However, the digital deception plotline raises some consent questions that are never fully addressed. The surreal style sometimes obscures character motivation. Still, it’s a rare, honest depiction of insecurity—worth watching for the conversation it starts.
